Works well
Good size, a bit heavier than I thought it would be. The top grind section could use more depth. Overall, this is a good looking product that gets the job done, no complaints.

Halloween Came Early
I have never used a spice grinder before, so when I saw the ultra-cool looking "Blue Sun and Yellow Moon" spice grinder, I couldn't resist trying it out.A FIREEYE grinder arrived moderately packaged, wrapped in a plastic bag within a minimalistic black, thin cardboard box. However, the design on the grinder was not the attractive and mystical-looking "Blue Sun and Yellow Moon", but rather an "Evil Sun" pattern, with a psychedelic-looking flaming skull. It's reminiscent of a pattern one might associate with the Grateful Dead era. Given that it arrived during the commencement of Halloween season, a favorite of mine, perhaps some gremlins were involved in choosing the pattern for me, so I'll caulk it up to karma. The matte pattern is vibrant and the colors are vivid against it's black background. This particular grinder is 3"W in diameter, but is thicker than advertised at about 1.75"H. Owing to it's zinc-alloy construction it has a respectable heft, weighing in at 251.7 grams (8.88 ounces, or 0.56 pounds). As such it's not exactly pocket friendly, but that's fine with me because I don't intend to travel, or "keep on truckin," with this bad boy.The extra height is attributed to it including an additional fine mesh screen layer not discussed in the product description, which I actually prefer. So, from top to bottom, it includes the magnetic lid with diamond-shaped sharp teeth, the similarly tooth-laden lower grinding disk with medium-large holes, the screw-on the screen layer, and the screw-on catch basin on the bottom. It also comes with a tiny little white spatula, which is far too small for flipping a spiced omelet. I think I would prefer a small brush instead, to help sweep out fines post-grind.Magnetization of the lid is achieved by two magnets, one at the center of the lid and an apposing magnet at the center of the second grid level, which allows easy rotation. The magnets provide a firm grip and the screw threads of the lower layers are nicely milled so turn smoothly. When tightly screwed together the patterns on the sides get a bit off kilter. That would be exacerbated if one chooses to leave the screen layer out of the assembly, but the pieces would still fit together the same. Also noteworthy is that the teeth in the lid and the layer below are flush with the lips around the edges, so spices need to be broken or chopped up a bit to fit them inside. Even so, I find the grind to be a bit coarser than preferred, owing to the medium-large holes. This is a nice grinder that I could easily recommend. However, I'll be keeping an eye out for one with somewhat smaller holes.

Great little grinder
First of all, I want to state outright I used Greek oregano to test this. Without a visible test I didn't feel I could give a reasonable review. As I happen to enjoy a lot of various specialty herbs, I can tell you that this grinder ground up the Oregano perfectly. It works just as well if not better for other herbs that perhaps it was more intended for. It's pretty large so you get a bit more torque than from the smaller ones. It has the usual screens inside and they seem fine. The main join at the middle where it screws together, however, it only provides about 1.25 total rotation from open to close. It seems like over time this may lead to loosening, but I'm not going to assume that it will. As of now it beats every other grinder I've used. It also looks pretty decent. The paint is matte as well so its not all slippery. It has a texture. It does seem to leave a bit more of the tiny bits unground, but then its also not ridiculously hard to rotate, so its a tiny tradeoff. I think its worth buying for a manual grinder. I'll use it until it breaks or until it's so old that it outlives me.

Large 3 Inch Spice Grinder Works Great
This is a really great spice grinder. The 3 inch size makes a big difference over smaller 2 inch grinders. The larger size works better, it is easier to get a grip and takes less effort to use it. It is very well mad with nice machining and very smooth & precise too operate. The thing I like the best is I do not need a tray. This grinder is large enough to reach in and roll right there or get what I need and leave the rest in there for later. My spice stays safe. The Evil Sun design is really cool! It fits right in with my decor.

Not working that great for flaxseeds
I have been looking for a grinder that grinds small amounts of flaxseeds. I want to add flaxseeds to some dishes, but it is best to grind them fresh, just what I need. I have tried a salt and pepper grinder, but the flaxseeds are so small they just go through, or nothing happens at all.I like the fact that this grinder is small and handy, and I love the design. It is very cool. In regards to the grinding it is not so great. The holes are big enough for the flaxseeds to fall through. So, what I have to do is put a small amount of the seeds onto the lid, so it's upside down. Then close the grinder, move it back and forth for a while, then turn it around so that the grounded seeds go into the center of the grinder. It isn't finely ground, but that's okay. I just want the seeds to be cracked so that the nutrients are more accessible. The grinder might work well for other things, but I haven't had the need for it, so I can't tell.

3 chambers.
First off I will say I ordered the sun and moon and received the evil sun one. I don’t mind because I like both. It has 3 chambers. Comes with a tiny plastic scraper. Design is well and all colors are vibrant. Lightweight. Grinding teeth sharp, even grinding. Very large storage area to catch the ground. Good magnetic top. It’s really good and solid build. Everything works on it like it’s supposed to.

Locked up
After only a couple uses it has locked up and will no longer open.

Quality grinder
It looks nice, quality materials, it's nice and big, but the grinding teeth are too far apart and the holes too large to get a nice fine grind. This can be solved by spinning it filter up/lid down to start, then flipping once you've achieved the desired results.
