Eric Sykes (Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines; Monte Carlo or Bust; The Others; Tv's - The Plank; Sykes) wrote, directed and co-starred in this shortish (45 minute) near-silent farcical comedy set (and filmed) in Finland. Sykes and fellow star Bob Hoskins (The Long Good Friday; Mona Lisa; Mermaids; Captain Jack) play accident-prone, father and son plumbers who are called out to an old actors home during the country's coldest ever day, when all the pipes are freezing everywhere. The guests in the home include a soup-slurper, an aging nymphomaniac, a voluptous care assistant, a mad film director, a well-dressed eccentric and a Hitler impersonator with a stuffed dog, not to mention a matron who soon thinks they are not up to the job as disaster follows disaster. Guest starring screen legends, Sir John Mills (Great Expectations; Scott of the Antartic; Dunkirk; Ryan's Daugter), Donald Pleasence (The Greta Escape; Cul-de-Sac; You Only Live Twice) & Spike Milligan as the fake Hitler.
