Play On
I purchased the Zidoo Z20 Pro last year, and a month later, Zidoo introduced all-new line-ups. I didn't let it bother me much, and the Z20 Pro worked fine, for the most part. After reading some reviews from current users, I decided to purchase the Z3000 in January 2025 and try it out. My number one issue with the Z20 Pro was that it would freeze up sometimes when I tried playing any 4K videos that were large in size. After a quick restart, it would work fine. The Z3000 hasn't frozen up on anything I've thrown at it, and the boot time is significantly better. It's not AppleTV better, but it's better than the Z20 Pro. For that alone, the upgrade feels worth it.

Best media player
Very happy with this product, similar to old popcorn hour, but much better with great 4K quality

Good hardware with questionable software
The hardware seems really well designed and built. Feels like high quality. However, the software leaves a lot to be desired. From the beginning I had intermittent stuttering in playback. I updated f/w twice in a month as they released. Somehow their f/w is always in beta. The most recent update made the player unusable, with worse stuttering in almost every playback, and intermittent freezing of the video. I hope Zidoo improves their in-house qc and testing to address these stability issues. I returned my Z3000.

Missing one star because....
.... there are many things in its OS that should be easier and more intuitive Example is when you need to match some poster entries manually. If you need to search for the same thing more than once, it doesn't keep a history so using the remote arrows to select letters and press enter is very time consuming and unnecessary. The other issue is the current OS doesn't recognize many hard drives you want to use in its bay, regardless of capacity. It can't see them, won't format them and when it finally does, it hangs and you need to reboot. It's an Android issue. 24Tb HD? Forget it. They should update this or go Linux or something less picky when it comes to storage. The good news is the great image quality it delivers when using Dolby Vision / HDR etc. and it will play DTS audio and a whole lot of other formats. Once you have your Poster wall the way you like it, back it up with the included option to do that. You'll need it because at some point you'll need to rebuild it.Offering user interface in HDR is also very nice, the colors pop and if you have mostly UHD HDR movies you won't get many black screens as modes won't switch a lot. On a calibrated panel this Zidoo doesn't disappoint at all, I just wish they would have chosen a different OS as Android really blows in many aspects.

This player is great!
This player is awesome! I looked at a lot of options when I was planning to replace my player and this one was the best. It runs really fast and displays video in high definition 4K, true Dolby Vision, and it works flawlessly! I put a hard drive in it and it plays all the video formats I have on my hard drive.

My new favorite electronic device
Before a few weeks ago, I had never heard of Zidoo, let alone the Z3000 Pro. A social media influencer mentioned using a Dune HD to play his physical media, which piqued my interest in finding the ultimate home theater media player. After hours of research and comparing options, I decided to take the plunge with the Zidoo Z3000 Pro—and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.I’ll be honest—the initial setup, especially configuring it with my NAS, was a bit of a challenge. The learning curve is steep, especially if you’re not used to managing network devices or media servers. But once you get everything dialed in, the experience is nothing short of extraordinary. The sound quality is crisp, immersive, and precise, and the video quality is nothing less than cinematic. The 4K HDR performance blew me away with vibrant colors and deep blacks that rival anything I’ve seen on high-end Blu-ray players. I don’t say this lightly—I’m not easily impressed, but the Z3000 Pro truly raises the bar.I had originally considered going all out for a Kaleidescape system, but the price tag was a bit steep for my taste. After using the Zidoo Z3000 Pro, I feel like I’m getting a very similar experience for a fraction of the cost. It’s hard to believe how much this player transforms movie watching—after using it, I can’t imagine ever going back to a standard Blu-ray player. One of the standout features of this device is the stunning poster wall interface. Being able to browse through my entire movie collection with full-color posters and detailed info at my fingertips is an experience that adds a touch of luxury to my home theater setup. The ease of navigation and the aesthetically pleasing layout make it a joy to use. The team at Zidoo has put a ton of thought into both the functionality and design of this player. If you’re serious about building a top-tier home theater system, the Zidoo Z3000 Pro is a game changer. It’s feature-packed, future-proof, and delivers an exceptional user experience. Whether you’re streaming from a NAS or watching 4K UHD Blu-rays, this device will elevate your viewing experience to new heights. Trust me—you won’t be disappointed.
