Benro GH2 Gimbal Head (Black)

Benro is known for its quality and this one is no exception.The product is solid and has a very good feel and movement. At 1.5 KG, the Tripod needs to be sturdy to fit this. I have a Benro Tripod, therefore it fit very well. Its a perfect fit for my Nikkor 200-500 lens with perfect centre of gravity.Getting the GH2 ready to use is fairly simple.I felt its much cheaper than it’s competitors without sacrificing any functionality or performance.The suppliers also took care of additional packing to the Benro Original box, It was delivered on time and in good condition.

I recently started doing lot of Wildlife and Bird photography and wanted a Gimbal head for my monopod and my tripod to capture the action . This product is absolutely cool to capture action shots and if mounted on a good Tripod or monopod is really sturdy giving amazing outcomes . The weight is alright given that this is not made of Carbon . But, I pair this with my carbon tripod/monopod and result is comfortable moving this with the payload mounted . The only downside was lack of proper bag to carry this with the shipped package . Wish they will add some extra cost and improve this area as the bag shipped with this is really flimsy and of no use.

It's excellent yet when I received the product , the crucial lp-100 on which camera can be fastened was missing. Though there was slot for same in the box it was missing. This plate costs around 6000 rs . The fact was not mentioned in the advertisement

Very good product from Benro. Sturdy and stable. All the knobs are nice fitting and smooth to operate. It nicely holds my Nikon 200-500 and Nikon 500mm f4 lens.

I chose this Gimbal head because it conveniently takes down into 4 separate parts.If the instructions were better than appalling I would have given it 5 stars.I have now used it for a month.The large knob at the bottom adjusts swivel tension AND locks it .The large knob at the top ONLY locks tilt.A small knob at 90 degrees adjusts tension.I suspect some who report tilt being stiff are using only the lock knob.A small Chrome knob half way up the vertical arm is IMO an "idiots" design feature.It can completely lock tilt permanently!To me the whole point of a Gimbal, unlike often with a tripod head, is not to tightly lock everything down.Not mentioned in the instructions is the vertical arm can be move upward so the lens is level with the top right locking knob.With the lens raised onto this position tilt is more precise.With the height adjustment vertical arm on the RIGHT looking from the back of the camera/lens there is then good clearance to fire the shutter and to operate surrounding controls.There is also full clearance on the left to operate lens settings that are usually on the left side of a large lens.This "height adjustment" feature seems common to many Chinese made Gimbals.The feature I consider worth experimenting with if buying other Gimbals with the same feature.This Gimbal comes with a PL 100 plate that, unlike the “normal” Benro PU 100 plate, does not have rubbers on the top surface to reduce potential lens twisting issues.This to me is not an issue as a lens is attached to this Gimbal at its base.Side mounted on a Side-kick there would be a twist issue using the PL100 with a heavy lens.The PL 100 plate has 62mm lens axis direction adjustment to help better balance a heavy lens.There are 3 tripod socket screws supplied.Some further lens axis adjustment can be possible, depending on the spacing of the 2 tripod mounting screws holes on most "professional grade" long telephotos.If needed Induro seem to make a 150mm PU150 version for about £25 that MIGHT be interchangeable.Although technically "Arca Swiss standard" Manfrotto and the ones for the Gitzo Gimbal are not interchangeable with Benro.This Gimbal packs down easily into 4 sections for transport though there is a weight penalty at 1.8 kg total weight for this feature.2 of the 4 individual sections are still relatively large when split.All in all this Gimbal does the job I want well - when I worked out how to put it together and how to adjust the tilt tension!

I use a 150 - 600mm lens and this gimbal is rock solid and smooth. Mostly wildlife shooting and birds in particular. If you use a heavy dslr and long lens combo buy in confidence.

This is a quality product designed for heavy camera lenses. It is exemplary in all aspects: ease of use, rigidity, evenness of movement etc. I use it attached to the central arm of a tripod with a hide clamp and on an old Benbo tripod, and it’s made life a lot easier and assured rock solid results.

Ich war auf der Suche nach einem neuen Gimbal und Benro ist für mich erste Wahl in Fragen der Qualität und Preis-Leistung.Grundsätzliches zu dieser Art StativkopfJeder der sich ein Gimbal, egal welches, anschaffen möchte muss bedenken auch ein sehr stabiles Stativ zu haben. Es nützt der beste Kopf nichts wenn das Stativ aufgrund des Gewichts die Tendenz bekommt zu schwingen. Selbst mit einem sehr großen Stativ kann man die ganz leichten Vibrationen spüren, denn das Benro GH2C ist nicht frei von Vibrationen. Man muss allerdings schon sehr rasch drehen um diesen Effekt zu merken. Auf einem leichten Reisestativ würde das GH2C wie auch jedes andere Gimbal zudem eine komische Figur machen.</klugsch..>Zunächst las ich über die bessere Belastbarkeit und das geänderte Design des GH5C und entschied mich dann ganz rasch dagegen um beim GH2C zuzugreifen. Warum nicht den GH5C? Ich bin nicht ganz sicher von wem die Designer von Fotoausrüstung beraten werden? Zubehör, das im Grunde auch mit Wildlife-Fotografie beworben wird, mit glänzenden blauen Parts ausstatten ist nicht besonders schlau. Blau ist für Wildtiere eine Signalfarbe und wird so erkannt wie wir das Rot als Warnfarbe sehen. Es macht wenig Sinn sich in Camouflage zu kleiden, Stativ, Body und Objektiv aufwendig mit Neoprenhüllen zu kaschieren um dann mit blauen Knöpfen weit raus zu schreien, ICH BIN HIER. Jede andere Farbe, rot, orange, gelb usw aber doch nicht blau.Sicher wird das nicht alle Tiere abschrecken, wem man sich gut getarnt auf die Lauer legt, Wind beachtet und sich wirklich still verhält. Dennoch ist das ein völlig unnötiges Risiko leichter entdeckt zu werden, gerade weil es so schön glänzt. Klar kann man das abdecken, wenn man das weiß, noch leichter ist es allerdings, erst gar nichts zu kaufen auf das Wildtiere sofort aufmerksam werden.Jedem der mir bei Birdwatching oder Wildlife mit Teilen begegnet die Tiere über 100e Meter warnen, weiß ich sofort - viel Geld für Fotoausrüstung ausgegeben aber leider keins für informative Bücher zu den Tieren die man angeblich so gerne beobachten will.Das GH2C ist ein makelloser Kopf (auf einem Rollei Alpha XL Mark II) und es trägt für Wildlife-Fotografie eine 5D Mark IV (bei Supertele mit Batteriegriff, Stichwort Gegengewicht) + Sigma 300-800mm ohne jede Schwierigkeit. Für Videoaufnahmen mit einem Canon 100-400mm L II, einem Canon 11-24mm oder einem Canon 24-70mm ist ebenfalls ausgezeichnet, da hier besonders die störungsfreie Bewegung entscheidend für schöne Schwenkaufnahmen (ohne zu rucklen) sind. Die Beweglichkeit ist über 360° ohne Tadel. Die Friktion lässt sich sehr schön stufenlos einstellen und auch bei höheren Reibungswerten ist der Lauf präzise und kontrollierbar. Mit den unterschiedlichen Objektiven (mit Stativschelle oder mit der Kamera - dann zB die 7D Mark II oder die 5D Mark III, jeweils ohne Batteriegriff) ist eine Balance sehr gut einstellbar, eine Grundvoraussetzung für ein leichtes arbeiten.Daher kann ich das Benro GH2C sowohl für die Fotografie als auch für Natur-Videoaufnahmen uneingeschränkt empfehlen.Ein Wemberley WH200 II kann das nicht besser, kostet aber das Doppelte. Daher hat das Benro eindeutig das bessere Preis-Leistungsverhältns.
