My grandson loves dinosaurs and being creative so this activity book fulfilled both criteria for fun things to do at Grandma’s house. There’s enough pages and paint for at least a couple of hours at a time. My refrigerator is filled with his handiwork!

I got this book to keep my son occupied while I’m doing things around the house or kitchen. It seemed like a good idea and I was hoping wouldn’t be too messy. I like the paper and images as well as the dried paint that comes on each page so he can focus on painting one page at a time. The water pen is a really great idea to keep things as clean as possible. However, because it’s just one pen every time he used a different color the paint colors would start to blend together. This means that after a while of painting, the brush tip just became murky and made the colors bleed together. This would be better suited supervised and with a small bowl of water and paper towels to clean the brush tip while painting but that defeats the purpose of the water pen.

We got this for our 4 year old daughter, who loves to paint with water colors and also is very interested in dinosaurs and sea animals. The pictures were great and she was really looking forward to coloring them. The pictures have numbers to guide you on which colors to use, as each color in the palette is also numbered. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get the colors to come out. The pen was easy to fill with water, but our child's grip on the pen was firm enough to cause it to continuously leak water on to the bristles, resulting in them getting way too wet. We had to constantly dry the water pen on a paper towel, but it was still too wet to get the colors to come out. We tried using a traditional water color brush dipped in water, but still couldn't get the colors to come out other than the purple and blue, which were very washed out light hues. The other colors did not appear at all. If the colors were able to be usable, I am not sure how you would change between them without getting the colors mixed together, as there isn't an easy way to clean this type of water pen between colors. It was overall frustrating and disappointing for our child, so we would not recommend this.

If you have kids who like to paint and you’re looking for something easy to travel with, this is it! Tip: Pack some paper towels so the kids can clean their brush between colors or to clean up if they get too much water on the page.The pages are thick so the paints do not easily bleed thru. Additionally they’re perforated so you can separate the paints from the picture if you want allowing you to move the paints to the side instead of the top. The paints work pretty well. It takes just a little practice to get enough water but not too much so that you get good saturation of color.

My almost 4 year year-old twin boy girl grandchildren just love these paint books and their mom loves them too because there’s no mess involved other than water, which fortunately causes no stains. Today is a rainy miserable day so we will be taking them over to their house and they can keep their selves occupied for a while with them. There’s lots and lots of pictures in them to “paint.”. A great item for small children that still have problems staying in the lines not making messes things like that. The books themselves are nice sized with many many picture projects in them. A great birthday gift for a party too one of those items that’s well worth buying.

I hate when descriptions or titles of products try to insinuate it is made for "boys", or "girls" when it is in fact a gender neutral item. Girls like dinosaurs too! My four year old girl loves these style of water coloring books.The paper is high quality, we like the coloring options, and of course the ease of use paint is great for the little ones. The only downside for the younger aged kids, especially 3-4 year olds is that this comes with a paint brush that you fill with water, similar to some of those water mats. They always squeeze out the water onto the paint or paper and it just makes a big mess without allowing them to really color it in. I subbed it out for a different brush and it was fine. Just something to think about.Overall good product for boys and girls.

Actual water paint at the top of each page!!! This is a fun on the go activity for littles. Perfect for the car.
