Nice little anvil for jewelry. It works as it should. It is well made and is worth the price. I would buy it again.

I love this size. it is just what I needed. Many bench blocks are only 3 inches in diameter, and that was not quite big enough for me. This one is 4 inches in diameter and that extra inch makes a huge difference! The base is nice and secure and with the extra area of silicone base you could even clamp it to a desk if you needed to. I don't think you would need to do this, but I like options. The base also helps to deaden the sound of steel on steel.One thing that could bother some people is that it is not a mirror finish. You can run your fingernail across it and feel a slight texture. For my purposes, this does not bother me and in some ways I think it is beneficial. However if you are looking for a block that is super super smooth, you might need to polish this one to make it work for your purposes.The block is also glued into the base. This is not an issue for me, but it is something to be aware of.

This silicone based flat anvil arrived in an unmarked brown box and did not include product or seller information. The metal came tarnished which did leave residue on the finger rubbing across it but can be rubbed off but did leave the metal marred.The disk is glued into the base but there were stress cracks in the silicon in a few places. The silicone does keep the metal disk from shifting across most work surfaces but did little to dull the sound. The metal of the disk does scratch but even directed pressure into the plate did not cause any heavy indentation.Priced at $19.99 at the time of this review, this product has its issues and hints that it could rust but as long as it is stored well between uses, it decent as a stable base for impact needs.

I like to consider myself an underground artist that loves crafting jewelry and I’m always looking for tools to use with my craft. From Spacenight this hardened steel bench block is an awesome multi tool. What I love best about this is it’s round solid metal block is set inside a rubber sleeve so it acts as a shock absorber this makes it very portable I can easily move this inside of my house where I can’t with my anvil or vise. The rubber sleeve is a nice thickness and won’t scratch your furniture I can actually form a ring on this heat treated hardened steel or hammer rivets in my leather projects without any worries of slippage this grips your surface you place it on very well. The hardened HRC52 carbon steel is amazing and takes a beating I couldn’t be happier I’m very excited to have this added to my crafting arsenal and I very highly recommend.“Peace “

I do a lot of copper work, cold forging, flattening and hammering sheets and wire 22g to 24g. The anvil has held up well. The surface is now copper colored. Being a thin anvil, 3/8" thick, I can't flatten the thicker gauges as well as a 3/4" steel block. The silicone base is of a nice size and I've used the silicone side for a soft relief. The silicone mat doesn't slip. I think it will fit in nicely with my other benchtop anvils.

First, I want to mention that I received this product for evaluation. I planned to use the Steel Bench Block, Flat Anvil Metal Stamping Kit for crafting. I expect that it will be well made and provide good support. This product has met all of my expectations, and the quality is great. The block is circular and encased in a silicone base, which provides a good grip to the surface. It stays in place while working with it. The materials are of good quality and the parts are well manufactured. The finish is not mirror smooth, but it is OK in my case. This is a nice addition to my crafting tools.

I like the idea behind this but when having a metal plate to hammer your metal on for forging or stamping you need the metal plate to be smooth and not have any pattern or it will transfer to the metal piece one is working on. Since the metal plate has fine parallel ribbing it makes it non useable for me.
