This frame arrived in a slim cardboard box and protected with sheets of polystyrene. I hate polystyrene, but it's probably necessary here as this frame is made of real glass, not the usual plexiglass/perspex - in other words, plastic. It's the first time for years that I've had a glass frame, and it's reminded me of how superior it is to plastic frames.This is a very classy frame indeed, with an attractive silver border. It has the usual choice of hanging hooks or a stand, and either portrait or landscape orientation. Where it differs from all the other frames I've had is that the cardboard backing is fixed to the glass, rather than being removable, with clips to hold it in place in the frame. This seems like a good idea - and certainly looks neater - but makes it tricky to insert a thin sheet of paper. Card would be okay, but a lot of certificates are just paper. I specifically ordered this frame for a long-service certificate I am about to receive for 15 years of volunteering for a charity. I just hope I will be able to insert it into this frame, although I guess I could always stick it to a sheet of cardboard first if necessary.

The back has a fold out stand allowing for portrait or landscape orientation. It also has swivel hooks allowing you to hang it, again either portrait or landscape orientation.The glass has a silver design around the edge, mine had the odd small imperfection in the finish. The frame has a solid glass front, weight is 650g.The only real issue is that, the pocket on the back is quite tight and makes sliding things in tricky, should be ok for a thick paper certificate, but thin paper tends to stick as you try to slide it in. Also the attachments for the stand and hooks might impact the back of your certificate - so if you want to keep it pristine I would use a thin card between the back and your certificate.Frame arrives protected by polystyrene inside a plain cardboard box - provides good protection.
