No they are not the same thing. Mallow extract comes from the Malva sylvestris plant while marshmallow root comes from the root of the Althaea officinalis. I hope this helps :)

Going by Herb Pharms numbers, I calculate about 4,400 drops.

Q: Can this be used for homemade skin care products?

I would imagine it could, yes. But keep in mind it is an extract made from alcohol and may not be the consistency you may want. I use it for internal supplementation. It is very good quality.
