A brilliant book for the enthusiast
This is a brilliant book. Pat's love for and interest in his subject shines through on every page. Whether you just have a general interest in the subject, or want a primer on how to build a wall, this is the book for you. The text is backed up by Pat's drawings which explain in simple terms how to go about replicating the work of our forefathers. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Book for beginners
A fantastic book for any one starting or thinking of starting stone walling. The layout is in easy to read and not unnecessary technical. Patrick McAfee keeps the tradition of stone walling alive and compares some modern repairs to walls and buildings.

Nice Book.
The book, although bought second hand, looked brand new to me just like previous second hand books I've bought on Amazon.I'm a dry stone waller and found this knowledgeable, personal overview of the great variety of dry stone walls and other structures in Ireland, highlyinteresting.

irish stone walls
this book does what it says on the tin. Not only should it be on the shelf of every surveyor, architect and engineer on the island of Ireland but on the shelves of every land professional in the english speaking world

best book for building a stone wall
I bought several books about stone walls bothe english and american and this one. It was by far the best book in terms of technique, type of stone wall, tools, methods, types of stone. the cover suggests it is only applicable to Ireland but this is not true, its applicable all over the world.
