Small , Accurate
I have a couple other radon detectors in our home because we live in an area where radon is present and a few of our neighbors had to have remediation done because of unacceptable levels . I have mine plugged in all the time on our 1st and second floor and was looking to get one for our basement . This detector is small and half the size of our other ones which i really like . It also has a nuclear radiation detector built in it , I'm not sure i actually need that it's there LOL . This unit also has an alarm that will alert you when high levels or radon or radiation are present which is something my other 2 detectors do not have and i like . Another very nice addition in this detector is that it will give you readings hourly , daily , weekly and long term so you will know if your high reading was a temporary thing or ongoing . I set them side by side and after 2 hours i checked the readings and the GQ detector was within 1 point of the other 2 telling me it is accurate . All in all this is a nice radon detector , At the current price point it is in line with most other radon detectors of similar quality .

Radiation?
It's an interesting product, and one that, well, has a bit of an unexpected feature...The product itself is just fine. A bit smaller than I was expecting but then you probably don't want an air-purifier-sized unit either. About a hand's height. This said, radon is a pretty dense gas so it's going to be heavier than air. To get the best reading therefore, probably ideal to have this at floor level in the basement. This of course has implications with the display and all of that. Now then this device also measures radioactivity. I think that's a bit unexpected but assume it is there due to how radon acts. And this gets a little nerdy, so bear with me. Isotopes of radium are radioactive. In a nutshell, radon can therefore cause higher-than-background radiation depending on concentration. It's gaseous though, so it's really a lung cancer danger although it can interact with ground water. All of this is to say that having the radiation detector in concert with the radon detector is a useful value add. And honestly...it's very much likely that most homes have some degree of radon.Enough of the nerd talk. Does it work? Well, my house did go through some mitigation of radon presence, so having this in my basement did ping a safe level. That it was detecting radon in the expected concentration (and was consistent with the existing radon detector) gives me satisfaction that the core function of this device works. A bit less comfort is in the radiation detector. It IS detecting background radiation, which is to be expected and the amount shown does meet the threshold. Given that I don't have a spare Geiger laying around, I'll just leave my assessment at that.I really do, however, wish there were a more elegant way to monitor things other than the app. Probably a matter of taste, but I really find it a bit clumsy to use. HomeKit/Alexa/etc integration would be best, which given this price point is a serious omission in my opinion. So there we are - it's a detector that works but does tend to keep you tied to a separate app to get information in lieu of going down to the basement and looking directly at the display. It's a bit TOO fancy, in my opinion, to leave on the floor (a shelf near a power outlet is the likely location) which may have implications on reading accuracy. Far better is a system where there's a remote probe that connects to a display station, but then we are in wish-for territory. As it is, it's a good product but sadly could be great with a couple of additions...

No battery
This is a neat instrument and seems to work properly. My gripe is that it has to be plugged in to work so you can't move room to room.

Plug in and go
This radon and radioactive monitor is a compact little unit that you just plug and wait for the results - it's as simple as that. I tested it on all levels of my house. The upstairs and main floor were showing very low levels & it was in the green, however my basement had a level that was over the recommended level that is acceptable and in the red. I did expect the basement's level to be a bit higher, but not this much. My house is only 33 years old and we have a poured concrete basement, so I was a bit surprised to the extent of it. I am definitely going to get this checked out further and am glad I had this detector on hand to sound the alarm!

Pretty Good Detector
Since we purchased the home many year ago, I was curious about Radon since this is a possibility where we live. Of course, we tested it when we first moved in, but that was over a decade ago. So I was really interested to try this detector out. Basic setup is very easy; you just plug it in. The indicator screen comes up immediately. The power button is also the menu button, so a quick press of that brings up the menu. I performed the Radon calibration, and then moved onto the wifi. With only 4 buttons, wifi setup is SLOW and TEDIOUS. This is especially true since the capital letter character set precedes the lower-case letters. So you have to push one of the arrow buttons to scroll through the character sets to find the letter you need. Suffice it to say, this takes a while. Setting up wifi accomplishes exactly nothing! There is a website programmed into it, but it doesn't actually do anything when you try to go there and you just get invalid user. The little guide that came with the unit gives no instructions for this, so perhaps this is a feature that is used on a higher end unit. Date and Time setup were also tedious, but much faster than wifi (don't bother with setting up wifi, it doesn't do anything). The unit seems fairly straightforward and accurate. I don't have a radiation source to test the detector, but having previous tested for Radon in the home, the numbers seem accurate. All in all, I'd say this is a good buy.

Simple plug in for radon monitoring
I mainly got this to monitor the radon levels and it seems to work well. It needs to be plugged in, but that is fine for me as the purpose is long term 24/7 monitoring. It seems as accurate as my older battery powered monitor and the display is easy to read to see the current reading.
