At 30 to 40 cents a bulb, these are impressive. Don't really know how they can be that cheap, especially given their somewhat complex construction, but I won't complain. About that: as the product photo shows, these are two circuit boards joined at right angles. The top one is circular, and both feature an array of surface-mount LEDs (the base on both sides), so you get a somewhat similar emission pattern to a normal bulb. The light quantity is similar, too - not noticeably more light, to my eyes, despite the claims, but obviously much whiter. I would also not necessarily expect these to last longer than an incandescent bulb, just given the intermittent and brief on-time of car interior lights. At a few minutes of run-time a day, either should last the life of the car, basically.Still, there are two good reasons you might prefer these to stock halogen bulbs: First, the whiter light. It's a very cheap update that does make a car seem "newer". You may also just want the uniformity of color with other LEDs on the inside and outside of the car, which was my main reason. The other reason is power draw. While the providing the same light, these use a fraction of the power, which also means much less heat. That will prolong battery life if you leave a door ajar, or in the case of BMWs, allow the battery management system to leave the lights running longer. (It may also help to preserve the life of the plastic trim around the lights over the very long term, without subjecting them to heat cycling.)One last note: the Amazon fitment says these are not compatible with my BMW. That's sort of true. The original halogen bulbs were 6W6, which are the 6 watt versions of this style of bulb. These are 5W5 replacements, so intended to replace the 5 watt versions. But they are physically the same, and with the swap to LEDs, that extra watt is irrelevant. My coupe took 8 of these inside (3 front dome, 3 rear dome, and 2 footwell).

I had an led bulb in one of my cars side marker lights that had started flickering while I was driving so I got these to replace it. These are very bright white led's. I have to say you really don't want to look directly at them while they are on. They fit correctly into the socket and radiate the light well in all directions. They don't seem to get very hot and are a great improvement over the old style filament bulbs. I installed a smaller battery in my car a while back to make room for new intake pipes. At that time I replaced all the old filament lights in the car with led counterparts to reduce the load on the electrical system. I have found some led brands are much better than others as far as longevity goes. For these I will just have to wait and see how long they last. The previous led bulbs I had installed only lasted about 2 years. The original filament bulbs they replaced had been installed and working for over 20 years. If you intend to use these in an older car interior that uses a restive style dimmer you will find the dimmer no longer dims the lights since leds don't require as much power to operate and will be full brightness even at the lowest setting. This can be a bit of a pain for night time driving. I reverted the bulbs in my gauge cluster back to the filament type due to this issue.

I got these to replace the non-led lights in my car and these were simple to swap out and the might difference was amazing. These were super bright and made things a lot less hot of you keep the door open too long. The price is more than fair for 10 bulbs. I got enough to replace all my bulbs with a couple to spare. It is worth your time to upgrade to some nice LEDs and this are priced right to do that.

This LED has difficulty with its contact with the terminals. Need to wiggle or push in/out the LED trying to find good contact points for it to light up. Sometimes when lighted, the LED turns off by itself and you need to wiggle the LED to get it to light up again....after awhile, it turns off again. Imagine when installed in difficult to reach area like the instrument panel and the LED goes off, very frustrating and difficult to remove many screws and panel just to reach the LED and to wiggle...and who knows how long it will remain on before it shuts off again!
