Doesn't work in linux
There's no technical details on the description apart from the marketing blurb. That chipset is reported as buggy as early as 2012 with pretty much every version of Linux available. You can some traffic so it might appear it 'works' however as soon as you load the traffic the driver crashes. Same behaviour with both the Linux driver and the manufacturer's driver. This was a waste of time and money.

Installed the network card in a sinnet tech SE II thunderbolt adapter, downloaded the akitio thunder bolt 10 gbit network drivers installed these on my apple osx 10.10 and presto a 10 gbit network connection for less than 500 pounds!

Small but functional PCIe
When limited for PCIe slots on the Mother board this can solve the problem and it works perfectly, great price too

If you want to span the ports, don't bother with this card.
Software supplied did not do spanning. Had to download from realtek. That software promptly crashedwhen attempting to span and now only one port shows up which is non-functional. Not a happy customer.
