Perfect replacement for a broken Brew Basket
It is a perfect replacement for the previous brew basket that I broke. I lost the little spring that keeps the basket closed when not brewing. This was cheap enough and works perfectly. It's easy to clean by dumping the grounds and then rinsing the basket promptly after each use. Letting old grounds sit in the basket lets the oils get stuck to the plastic and can produce an odd flavor in the coffee. A clean pot and brewer are key to good coffee. I have had this brewer for 5-6 years and, when kept clean, makes consistently good coffee as long as the water and coffee are measured carefully. I use a medium grind.

A Story, Some Pointers, and Praise for a Product and Seller:
My wife has always loved coffee; so when her fondness for an aging Krups waned, looking for a new brewer fell to me.We had tried French presses, Chemex, and at least four other non-per/pour through pots over the years.I bought a Moccamaster because it got great reviews and was expensive. (My guide on gifts is to buy something nicer than I’d buy just for myself.)No perfume, jewelry, clothes, bags, etc. were wanted..so the Moccamaster got bought. In addition to looking elegant and post modern, the MM makes great coffee but is finicky as an infant with colic.Don’t put in the apparently purposeless plate that goes beneath the carafe just right and you’ll get ten cups of coffee flowing like a mini-Niagara.Don’t wash the brew-basket with sufficient care or gentleness and a little nub gets washed away. so that removing the pot too early results in a mini-Johnstown.Anyhow or so, you’ll need a new brew-basket. Get it from J.L. Hufford. They have the best price, free shipping, and got mine to me earlier than promised.ALSo (I can only scream in caps so much), JLH has a website that shows the replacements parts and it reveals that many of the parts are the same, interchangeable between models. So you can order a part without wondering if you entered a wrong number or picked a part that might have looked right but that was just an eighth of an inch too big.Right part in. No Niagara. My wife likes her new coffeemaker.

Critical for keeping my Moccamaster going!!!
I have had my Technivorm Moccamaster for at least a decade, and with regular cleaning the thing just keeps chugging along. Unfortunately some of its parts don’t. They’re plastic. Plastic wears out eventually. The little stopper at the bottom of this basket is what controls the flow of your morning coffee when you put the pot underneath. I’ve had 2 of them go in a decade. That’s not bad really….??? But it means that you cannot take the pot out while it’s brewing, because the coffee will keep flowing. And I can rarely wait for it to finish!!! I want that first Technivorm Moccamaster cup!!! How great is it then that you can buy a replacement basket for whatever model you have. I absolutely hate tossing some stupid appliance because it is so cheaply made that you can’t replace a part. THANK YOU TECHNIVORM!!!!

Needed replacement due to lost spring
I LOVE my Technivorm Moccamaster coffeemaker, which I bought in the fall of 2016 and it's still going strong in spring 2023. After so many years, the spring mechanism on the bottom of this part started coming off now and then. That mechanism consists of two parts: A plastic lever and a tiny little spring that sits between the lever and the basket to create the tension that seals off the basket when you remove the pot from the base. Last time it came off, the tiny little spring went flying who knows where and is gone forever. We looked and looked and never did find it. The basket works without it, but you lose the functionality of being able to pull the pot out mid-stream, which is kind of nice to have. So we ordered this replacement part. It's identical to the original. I wish that Technivorm would find a way to enclose or attach the spring so that it can't get lost if the lever part comes loose. For a coffeemaker that is incredibly well-engineered, I'm surprised that this point of failure exists. Still the best coffeemaker I've ever owned and if I need to spend a little to replace the basket again in a few years, I guess that's a small price to pay!
