This umbrella is perfectly compact & fits into any purse or beachbag with ease. It provides ample sun protection and actually makes the immediate area darker while using it. It is made of quality material and is a good value for the price point. It's also super cute! I'm extra, so I would include a clip with it to be able to attach it to chairs so it is more versatile and not only a handheld but a sit and relax product as well. But I can make due by putting it securely into my bathing suite while I sit and write this review. Ha! To open and close it at times was a struggle that is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. I felt cooler under the unbrella it definately protected me from the UV rays, because it was compact it fit perfectly in my suitcase and I recieved several compliments.

I purchased this for sun protection and it works great!! It definitely isn’t wind proof because it turned upright in the wind last weekend. Also the strap to velcro closed could be a bit longer. I feel like it’s going to rip eventually as tight as you have to wrap it closed because the umbrella is puffed up when you try to close it. I’d still purchase again because it’s completely black on the inside and sun does not shine through and that’s what I bought it for!

I thought it was automatic, and it's not. My fault for not reading the description attentively, I guess.Also, it was the green version and it does snot look greed at all. It is very light, and fairly large, but I don't like the manual opening.
