I bought this product in June 2018, and for a year it worked great. Then the wires became exposed (like in the picture) and it was a little finicky with how I had to place it to make it work. Now it takes a long time to adjust to get the charge to work. It lasted a long time of taking it in and out of my backpack though, but now I have to buy another one. It also gets pretty hot.

Its really good and I love how long it is however compared to the official charger for the surface pro 6, it heats up A LOT. Like touching it burns hot. It also causes the trackpad to glitch out and make the pointer fly all over the screen when plugged in. I tested it and unplugged the charger, the pointer followed my motions perfectly. Plug it in and it flies all around the screen. I can't click what I need to click. Going to use this as a charger when I am not using the surface since I can't click what I need to click.Edit: after using it awhile, I removed a star because the charger is loud. It’s across the room but I can hear the screaming of the electricity as it goes through the charger if the room is quiet. In class it’s very easy to hear over the professor’s voice.Update 7/22/22: 2 years later its still running. Still has the same problems from previous edit. The light that shows its charging stopped working a long time ago and it only charges if you put it in a certain direction. At least it works though

I gave it 4 stars only because sometimes when it’s plugged in the mouse pad stops working. This doesn’t bug me to much because I use a usb mouse. But it is a weird thing caused by the cord.

UPDATE:I was promptly contacted and sent a new one as mine was defective. Received it next day, and it works great.5 stars for customer service, 5 stars for product.I've been using this charge for about a month now and i'm having an issue with it charging my laptop. It's plugged in, the light is on, and it will charge for a few seconds but then stop charging. I can unplug and replug and it will charge but then again for only a few seconds and stop charging again. Not satisfied with this near 30 dollar purchase.

received in friday...plugged it in and....nothing. did not work. i needed my computer for the weekend so i ran up to best buy and bought one for $90...at least that one works...UPDATE: This seller saw my bad experience and sent me a new charger at no cost and said go ahead and return the other one to best buy...this cord works exactly like the $90 one I got from best buy so I returned the other one. Great service from this seller and the charging cord is perfect.

We purchased the charger about a year or so ago, and it has serviced us wonderfully ever since. When eventually after a year some possible internal tear resulted in a malfunction, the seller didn't hesitate to fully replace the product in a matter of days. Buy with confidence, you are assured with this seller.

EDIT: they sent me a new charger and it works great.This charged worked great for TWO MONTHS. It is longer than the one I had that came with the laptop, which is great, but after 2 1/2 months, the adapter box heated up to the point of burning me and then suddenly stopped working. VERY disappointed because I thought this would be a less expensive alternative to buying one from Microsoft. I guess you get what you pay for.

I'm now on my 3rd surface pro charger in the past 2 years. Either I've gotten unlucky twice or the durability of these chargers is just very poor. We'll see how long this new one lasts. Not sure I have much choice as this is the only thing wrong with my surface pro.However, great customer service as they promised to send me a new replacement charger free of charge!
