Platters Slate Clock Gift - 22cm Round Engraved Clock with Stag Head Design

I'm not convinced this is engraved in the slate, it looks like it's been stenciled on as the image goes over the chipped edge where an engraving would've stopped surely? It's a gift though and when it's on a wall it should be fine. It wasn't packaged very well, rattling about in a cardboard box inside a cardboard sleeve with no protection for the clock other than a bit of polystyrene over the hands.
