A solution to bulky holsters; The best way to conceal carry!
The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard has quickly become my favorite carry gun. It is compact, and still has a reasonable caliber that Iโm comfortable carrying for my protection. However, no matter how small your firearm is, a bulky holster makes carrying it a nuisance, especially if youโre a smaller guy like myself. With this clip, you no longer have to worry about bulky holsters getting in the way, or potentially exposing your firearm. I know when I wear t-shirts in the summer, my firearm is usually exposed. Not being from a southern state, some people might be alarmed by this, which is why I chose to purchase this clip. With that being said, I prefer to carry my firearm at a 6 oโclock position, and with this clip it is barely noticeable. Not the same case with a holster! Installing this clip was easy enough. All of the tools you will need are included, with the exception of a small hammer or mallet that youโll need to pop out the pin as shown in the instructions. One IMPORTANT thing I should point out is when you pop out the pin, the tool that you use to do this with is REPLACING the pin that comes in the bodyguard. The inside is threaded, which will hold the screw to attach your clip to your gun. Make sure you hammer it in from the LEFT hand side (the side that has the safety). I feel like mentioning this is important because the instructions say โtap out pin from the right sideโ which can be confusing. Iโm not sure if this is a typo or not, but it is poorly worded in my opinion. Not the end of the world though. Overall, this is a really cool product. Holsters are good for some people, but if youโre on the smaller side like me, or find regular holsters bulky, I think youโll definitely enjoy this clip! I did have a bit of trouble installing this clip (took about 15 minutes), so if you have any questions, let me know, and I'll do my best to answer in a timely manner.

CCW made easy even while running.
This clip has made CCW comfortable and extremely concealable. I have the S&W Body Guard .380. I can now carry every day without worry of being "outed". I prefer to carry inside my waistband in the small of my back so only the clip is visible if my shirt pulls up. I wear a black belt which helps conceal the clip if my shirt does ride up. I drive 50-60K a year for work and it never bothers me while driving. I am a fairly small person and wear athletic type polo shirts as well as t shirts most of the time. Only in a very bent over or reaching position does my shirt sometimes come up above my waist band. While standing it is very easy to get to the gun, while sitting it is a little bit more difficult but doable. I'm also a runner and have been carrying on some of my runs, so far 5 miles is the most I've gone with it. I wear trail running/hiking shorts that have a small belt only on the front 6 inches or so. The gun stays perfectly positioned and doesn't chafe, inside waist band in the small of my back, we'll see how it works when I get up around 15-20 miles. I can't imagine using any type of holster. The Bodyguard and this clip have made CCW possible.

Great addition to your Bodyguard 380
This is a great product. It fits perfect and the gun looks like it came from the factory with it installed. The directions could be better, but if you are mechanical it shouldn't be an issue. If you don't have much mechanical experience it would be best to have your local gun shop install it for you. The package comes with the clip, the replacement pin the clip attatches to, two screws, a hex key, and a paper backing with the directions printed on it. The directions state to use a punch and mallet to remove the original pin from the rear of the gun, but doesn't say what size you need. I found that a 1/8" punch worked beautifully. I spun the end of the punch against a piece of fine sandpaper to break the edge and give it a little taper. A small ball peen hammer or light mallet is all that's needed to push out the original pin. Push it out from the right side of the gun, then place the threaded end of the replacement pin against the taper you sanded in the punch and press it back through the pin hole from the left side. Do not force it through! There is plenty of room for it if everything is lined up properly. I found that getting the replacement pin through the right side of the gun required some downward pressure on the slide to line everything up. Once the pin is installed you are ready to install the clip and the screw holding it down. Apply a dab of blue medium strength Locktite to the threads of the screw before you install the clip. Don't use anything stronger than medium strength or you will never get the screw out again. On my clip, I noticed that the hole was off just a little bit when placed flat against the right side of the gun. Don't try to force the screw into the pin if you encounter this. It's not worth cross-threading it and ruining both the screw and new pin. Instead, move the clip away from the side of the gun until you can line up the screw with the hole in the pin. . Install the screw using the supplied hex key. As you thread the screw into the pin it will pull the clip into place. Once the screw is tight you are done! Don't try to crank down or over tighten the screw, it's small and the hex key used to install it is very small. You just need it tight enough that it doesn't move around, the Locktite is there to keep it from coming apart. The clip works great and holds the gun low. If you carry it inside the waist band with a tee-shirt over it you can't tell it's there at all. In a pocket you can see the back of the slide and grip, but it sits comfortably and feels secure. It also fits in most soft holsters with the clip attached, if you needed to use one.

Glad i found this
I thought paying $20-30 for a belt clip was too expensive but you need to consider making this on your own would cost more than $30. I bought one for myself first. Install is quick but you need the correct size punch to remove the rear roll pin plus the next punch size down to help align everything so the new pun fits thru. I found it easiest to cycle the safety on and off until you can see the mechanism has lined up enough to push the new pin thru. Pretty easy. I didnt use lock tight and it holds fine. I was so impressed by how comfortable it is to now where my bodygaurd 380 inside the waist band that i bought 5 more. Two went to my boss and his brother, they love the clip, two went to my friend and his wife, same results, and im installing one on my boss' friends gun today. Ease of draw isnt great but if you keep your belt snug the handle of the gun will stay canted and rest on top of your waist band if you want it to. Otherwise just push it down into the waist band and now its impossible for someone to know you are carrying. You wont be disappointed. Cool holster.

Really nice, works perfectly with a Fobus paddle holster
Really nice add on for the Bodyguard 380, especially if you typically carry in a Fobus paddle holster, like I do. This little clip is almost like a custom fit and doesn't interfere with carrying in the Fobus at all... in fact, the clip just slides over the outside edge of the Fobus like the two were meant to be used together. You get a slightly more secure holstered weapon, but you don't notice any addition to tension in the draw. I have the first gen Fobus for the S&W Bodyguard... not sure if the outer shell is exactly the same on the new Gen II Fobus paddle. Occasionally, I need to be a little more discreet in the way I carry, either a shorter shirt or something like that, I can pull the gun out of the Fobus and clip it to the inside of my boots or inside my waistband for sleeker profile. Very sturdy feeling clip, I've been carrying mine for months now and it shows no loss of tension or bending and it doesn't damage my clothing, belt, or boots. When holding the weapon, the clip is absolutely invisible to me and doesn't interfere with the way I draw, aim, or reload. Really nice.

Expensive for what you get, but worth twice the price.
The product is expensive for what you get, but worth double in usefulness. The convenience of usability and conceal-ability without the bulk of a holster when used with .380/9mm "mouse" pistols. Clip is easy to install if care is taken and use of proper tools.....easier to install on Rugers because there are less parts secured/aligned by the roll pin. Insert drift into the right side of the gun and tapped with a brass hammer to push it out the left side. If you look into the left side hole after the drift is withdrawn the hole in the metal component directly below the plastic frame goes slightly out of alignment once the drift is withdrawn.....had to reinsert the drift through the right side of the frame to realign everything and then used the new pin coated with a slight film of gun oil and tapped gently with a plastic hammer to drive the drift out the other side.....only the first 1/8" is critical to align the part (safety pivot?) under the plastic frame and the drift can be pulled out and the pin gently tapped until flush with the frame. Then the easiest way to install the screw without stripping is to put the wrench into the head and hold it against the clip while the screw is started into the pin....as it tightens it will align the clip until it is flush against the frame providing the proper tension. Overkill on installation?.....definitely yes, but better to take the extra care than cry later if the pin is blindly mashed with a hammer and the end of the pin mushrooms, the hole enlarges or the frame cracks. Deducted one star for the S&W model clip as opposed to the 5 stars given for the same clip for the Ruger because of the potential for part misalignment once the roll pin is removed from the S&W, Further, the size drift used can vary with the Ruger because the OEM pin is solid, but is critical with the S&W.s hollow roll pin Considering the price, maybe charging an extra buck would be understandable if the product came equipped with a correctly sized drift for removal and reinsertion of the pin.

You won't use a holster after buying this !
Bought for a SW Bodyguard. 380. Installation was easy and fast. Just follow the directions exactly and you'll have no problem. Pay special attention to which side you drive the pin in from . This is a great way to carry a firearm! Once you use the techna clip you'll never use your holster again. It's so comfortable I don't even know the weapon is there. It rides well on your waistband. So convenient just clip it on and go!

Super handy accessory
UPDATE: 12/16/2016 - I purchased another one to replace the one on my gun that the screw had rusted out of due to body contact and sweat. The new one is much better spring metal and holds very firmly. I now highly recommend this product and have updated my review to 5 stars. Using this clip I can just put my handgun in my pants. No holster needed. Eliminates a LOT of footprint of the handgun. My only wish is that the clip would be a little more springy and sturdy. After a month or so of using it, it is slight bent out. I can always bend it back in but using actual spring steel would probably work much better. DISCLAIMER: This review is solely the opinion of the author and should not be considered advice.
