Fun but messy!
I gave this to my grandson for his birthday. He loves insects. It’s kept him and his two-year-old and seven-year-old brother occupied for three hours. They loved the chiseling the gems and brushing it off to find the insects. It is a bit messy but they used it outside so we just swept after. It is recommended to put garbage bag underneath and outside.

Very educational and fun
I purchased this for my son as a Christmas gift. It was fun to chip away the chalk and see what bugs were inside. I also appreciate the cards provided on each bug. This was a great learning experience - we will use for homeschooling.

Great gift for bug loving 5 year old!
Little boy played with it for hours digging all the bugs out! Plus the bugs are encased in amber so no having to actually touch them!

cute but came already broken
my 5 year old nephew had a lot of fun with this. I thought it would take more time for him to get through it but it was pretty easy. It did come already in pieces and not in a block like the picture showed.
