Q: What is the depth of the seat? Also the width of the seat itself...not including the arm rests.

19 inches deep 21.5 wide. Be aware that the front of the seat is much higher than the rear, putting pressure under your thighs. I had to resort to a foot rest to raise my legs up. Also it seems like a spring moved or broke in the seat after 3 months, and it is slightly uncomfortable with less cushioning in one part. I would not buy it again or recommend it. I would have returned it, if it wouldn't have been such a pain to disassemble and get back in the box.

Q: Can someone tell me what that button by the right knee is for?

The chair in the picture that Amazon provides is incorrect. It is the same exact color and design, except the button has now been removed. The chair has the lever, the tilt tension adjustment, and the lumbar adjustment on the side of the back rest.

Q: Can someone say whether the arms on the chair can be removed so it is an armless chair?

While the chairs' arms can be removed, you would be sacrificing the engineering integrity of the chair and the back would likely break and fall off.

Well all i can say is once it was assembled and i sat in it my head met the head rest . the back from the seat to the top of the head rest is 32 inches.
