Open neck jar
The fact this jar doesn’t get smaller at the top makes it so much easier to scrape the side. Favorite jar so far.

Perfect Starter Jar
I love everything about this jar. My starter was the best it's ever been. I was using a large jar that was square shaped. It was hard to get the starter out and it just didn't work as well as this one with the straight sides. I like the adjustable band that shows how much the starter rose. I don't understand the vertical strip with the temps on it. No instructions. The spatula needs to be about 2 inches longer and the rod inside of the handle needs to go to the end. The last two inches of the handle is floppy. Aside from that, I love the jar and gray cloth cover. It's very well made and I would buy it again.

Really nice set
I know everyone is rating 5 stars, and I really is nearly there for my picky tastes, and probably you will want to give it 5 stars as the others. My only comment that dropped a star from utter perfection:The "breathable cover" is polyester. Polyester of this nature is not very breathable, and it is plastic, plastic that sheds.I am a HUGE fabric nerd, and poly is horrific as a choice here.Polyester eventually starts shedding nanoparticles of plastic -- RIGHT OVER YOUR BREATHING SOURDOUGH. WHY??? Why did the seller choose to curb a great idea with saving a few dimes to use polyester over your food? LINEN, linen or even cotton is what is needed here. Actually linen is the only choice in my book, for proper breathing.I am completely against putting plastic on my food for cooking (and the breathing of the starter is part of the cooking certainly). And for this use, it does NOT breathe truly. Poly of this quality is a sweat factory. And the shedding of nanoparticles (or bigger but likely still microscopic) plastic from the poly is well established. Our homes' wastewater is filled with polyester particles. It sheds like our skin cells shed, just from rubbing, thus just the act of placing the cover upon the jar will lead to nanoparticle shedding straight into your breathing starter. And we've had enough plastic in the kitchen for the past number of decades. Its in every cell of our bodies now. Its time to remove nearly all plastic. Its time to stop calling things other names when they are just plastics. Yes there are uses where plastic is still the best choice, but 90% of where we use plastic is a choice for cheap mass production instead of a choice for best use and quality. Best choice for quality is usually something other than plastic. Even bread bags for example are now usually lined with plastics, instead of choosing no lining or a lining of resin plus beeswax plus jojoba. Of course you can only buy bread in plastic, in stores. Even the paper bags are lined in plastic. I'm making my own bread to avoid plastic, and gain nutrition. So I won't be using this cover, and sadly it will add to the trash mountains.Ok, plastic rant done.Next point: The temperature sticker arrives not stuck upon the glass. I suppose this is not perfectly accurate as a point of knowledge while making your sourdough. We're suppose to guess with no instructions given, exactly where to place that sticker. I suppose we go with the photo and place from the top down. But it would be nice if the seller either had it placed for us, or at least included a small paper with alignment suggestion, and even instructions on how to use for someone new to baking sourdough. For example, I know people who would like to get into bread baking, or who bake other breads and not sourdough but would like to, and currently I would not choose to gift this item to them because it is incomplete for those cases.Given my harsher judgement above, I will still say that the glass and spatula and lid and wonderful quality.Even the sticker and band seems it will last a while (a year? I am not sure, an extra sticker and band and a linen cover would have been nice, and I know that would mean an extra couple dollars charged, but then it would enter fully into the premium category, much better than most others available currently). With all that said, this is recommended. But I hope the seller finishes traveling to the high end finish line they started and takes my suggestion to do better.

My Sourdough Starter's Dream Home!
At long last, I’ve found the perfect jar for my sourdough starter—no more cramped quarters for my bubbly little pet! The 50oz wide-mouth jar gives it all the room it needs to grow, and trust me, this thing loves to rise and shine. The non-slip silicone bottom? Genius. My starter has tried to escape a few times (it’s clearly plotting world domination), but this jar keeps it firmly in place. The date-marked feeding band is basically my starter's personal assistant, helping me keep track of its feeding schedule—because who has time to remember that when you're juggling baking, work, and life?Bonus points for the thermometer, because apparently my starter has very specific temperature needs. (It’s pickier than I am when choosing the perfect avocado.) And the bamboo lid and cloth cover? Stylish AND functional. My kitchen's aesthetic is officially leveled up.Now I can finally stop using those random jars and bowls I was definitely not supposed to use. This jar is the Goldilocks of sourdough starter homes—just right.

Great Starter kit
This sourdough start kit is great. The band and thermometer work well they keep in place very well. All the parts are very easy to clean and the kit works wonderfully. The silicone sleeve goes on and off with ease and it helps the jar not to slide when stirring the batter. It’s a great value.
