Picks up every sound.
I like the sound quality, ease of use and appearance.

Looks great but audio isn't good, definitely not broadcast quality
I love the look of this petite Fikyra digital recorder which works very well as a dictation machine or aide-mémoire, although it's fiddly to use, not all of the text is in English, even when that's the chosen language, and the sound really quality isn't good. You couldn't use this for any broadcast needs, unfortunately. It comes with a very short and green USB-C cable, a strap which hooks into the look on top of the device but is too small to go around a wrist and a lovely quality case. It looks fantastic, it's not that easy to use, the format is WAV and files are stored by date, you can't rename them. And, when you press play, it plays every audio file on a loop until you stop it.You can store recordings on a memory card or the inbuilt 32GB memory but also transfer them to a computer using the USB-C cable, there isn't a wifi/bluetooth option.I love how it looks but found it quite fiddly to use, including which buttons to use to delete or sort through files, it's almost counter-intuitive but it records easily. I just wish the sound quality were better for my needs, it was too open, too hissy and not a pleasant listen so definitely not suitable for interviews or even recording music. Such a shame as it looks so good, 3*

Super portable and decent sound quality
I was actually surprised by how easy this was to use, the instructions are clear and I was genuinely suprosed by the sound quality and volume, the only thing is there are a few buttons so does take a few goes to memorize where everything is , but it’s a super fun devise, and definitely does its job as described

Dinky wee pocket recorder with good sound quality
I couldn't believe how small this was when I took it out the packaging so that's great for fitting in a pocket and taking everywhere in case you get a chance to record something. The provided shell case is excellent too for storing and safely carrying the recorder and supplied cable.I generally prefer devices with removable AAA or AA batteries as when the built-in rechargeable battery eventually fades it likely becomes a paperweight, but I'm impressed with the long battery life I'm getting right now so hopefully it lasts a long time. The screen and menus are ok - not always super intuitive but easy enough to figure out and with enough practise muscle memory should kick in. Good variety of sound quality settings are available too. I also love that it has 32GB built in memory to get going straight away with plenty of recording time but you can add a microSD if needed as well. The tiny mic on the top belies how well this thing can pick up sound. I'm actually really surprised and impressed and wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. I also have a more expensive Zoom H1n and there's not as much difference as one might expect. When factoring in the size and easier carrying around of this wee Fikyra it is now my carry everywhere field recorder. I like to catch all sorts of sounds to sample and use in making music and for that this works great. The main feature I find it lacks is 3.5mm input and output which can be handy to capture sounds from other devices and quickly play back on headphones etc but then it might not be so small and pocketable and the best sound recorder is the one you have on you when you need it and as I've said, this is so easy to go everywhere.

Small, reasonable sound quality, mediocre range, some security features, clunky UI.
I've summed up the main points in the title. It's fairly small, certainly pocketable. Feels adequate in terms of build quality, but not heavy duty. The user interface (UI) takes a bit of getting used to and isn't the most intuitive. I'd have expected the wheel to scroll through menu items but you use the fast-forward and rewind buttons instead. Otherwise it's fairly straight forward.Recording quality is what you're really reading this review for. It's ok, although the mic does pick up a fair bit of cracks and pops. There is a noise cancelling feature as with most dictaphones and like most noise cancelling features it does give a lesser recording by stifling the beginnings of words a little. It' useable though and you can adjust the severity of it.You can connect it to a PC and download the files separately. It's basically recognised as a USB flash drive when connected. The microphone picks up well when subjects are very close, less so at range. In a typical average sized room though it's fine. You can adjust the microphone gain in the settings menu, which surprisingly a lot of dictaphones lack an option for.It has speakers for instant playback which are always going to be lacking on a device this small. They're ok though for a quick review of what you just recorded. It's not bad at all, but sadly not great either. It's lacking a little in terms of build and although it's small in itself, it's no smaller than most on the market. I've given it a three star review and it's a very strong three. Slightly more pickup from the microphone at longer ranges would have easily been a four

Tiny and easy to carry with a good protective case, great for personal use.
Fikyra digital recorder: A very neat little gadget, I think best placed for personal use. I like to have something like this in my bag as I’m of a “certain age” and no sooner do I think if something than I’ve forgotten it again, so very useful as an aide memoir. On occasions I run meetings and attempt to take minutes/notes as I go, this, I think, would be helpful for a gathering in a small area for 3ish people but I’d say the sound quality on replay isn’t quite clear enough if in a bigger room and for a number of people. It’s not overly complicated to use but takes a little practice to establish the functions which don’t quite flow as first thought but easy enough once you know. It comes in a very sturdy hard-backed case so well protected if carrying with you and certainly small enough. I think, at £30, it’s not badly priced but I personally wouldn’t pay much more for it. If you’re in the market for a tiny digital recorder this is pretty good.
