This stud finder is actually more than what is states as we can find magnetic sensors, Nail Beams and AC wires. It auto shuts off in 3 seconds which is something I figured out only after reading the manual. Its does a pretty neat job but the one thing we need to remember is to do proper calibration before use. This is something new for me and unlike other stud finders but you will get used to it after a couple of iterations. Overall a simple, sleek effective product which is battery powered ( its comes with the purchase ) and very useful on a periodic basis.

This item worked very well for the price. However, it came with a partial dead battery. So, I ended up spending $5 for a new battery.

lo devolvi unicamente porque las instrucciones vienen solamente en ingles , eso yo no lo entiente se supone que este tipo de articulos deverian de venir en varios idiomas ya que tiene varios usos diferentes 8 en 1 asi que para no ronperme la cabeza lo devolvi , si no entiende ingles no lo compres , asegurate de que el que compres tenga varios idiomas . el ingles escrito es mas dificil que el hablado.por eso le di 3 estrellas. por su desconsideracion.

I really like this device. Its multifunctional make it useful For a wide variety of applications including walls wallows that have wood and metal studs that are wallpapered orpainted. The literature states that it has difficulty with walls that are lath and plastered or have extreme texture and with acoustic ceilings .It can also be used to find wiring inside of a wall.Because of all of these functions, there is a bit of learning curve and you'd do well to read the directions, including the "Helpful Hints." For this reason, I keep the user manual in the drawstring storage bag along with the device instead of throwing it away like I usually do. The built-in level is a nice touch as is the inclusion of a 9 volt battery. Overall, this is a good buy for such a versatile stud finder.

Seems like all stud finders of this type are made by the same maker and are just rebadged. I thought I'd give this one a try and was disappointed. I used it to try and find a stud to hang a mirror. And while it ultimately did work, it took several tries and even then I wasn't certain if it was accurate. It would detect a stud on one pass, then show nothing on subsequent passes. It definitely does not provide the confidence you want before putting a hole in your wall.
