The product is great! Bright colors and is great for young kids.

It's just as mesmerizing and captivating as the classic lava lamp. They're very similar in shape, but the plasma lamp is very very light in weight, too light. It encourages you to touch it to see it's vibrant effects, but then easily falls over. I don't know how dangerous it would be I'd it were to break, nor am I trying to find out, so I have put mine away for now. I'll think of a way to add weight to the bottom, or maybe some double sided tape will work.

The first one I received was shattered inside the box into quite sharp little shards. The glass is thin, not tempered, and the packaging is insufficient for something this fragile. While Amazon also was at fault for shipping it inside a plastic bag instead of over-boxing it, the manufacturer really should encase it fully in foam like how light fixtures and such are usually packaged.It does work and the kids really enjoyed trying it out. Always wanted one of these myself when I was younger. Unfortunately I don’t feel safe leaving it out given the thin glass that breaks into sharp pieces. The lack of any substantial weight to the base doesn’t help make it any more stable. If a kid or pet knocks this over there’s a definite breakage risk and the resulting shards will be sharp.Also please note that the pictures of the barrel plug for the power input are correct. One part of the description references USB incorrectly - this is not USB powered.Not sure if anybody does make one with tempered glass or thicker glass (the latter seems like might not work quite as well for it to be attracted to your fingers) but I have to lower the rating for this given the breakage risk.
