I really dont understand the negativity of this product
I admit when I first got this, I was doubtful but is worth every penny and works brilliantly.I have read several negative reviews of this product where there are comment about the coverage and the fact the pigment separates ??? It clearly states this on the instructions and every gold paint I have ever used does the same. If you mix it properly then it works perfectly well, I don’t understand why people mark down a product because they don’t follow the instructions. As for the negativity about the brushes I love them and are exactly what I expected just like in the picture.People go on about shaking the paint, the instructions clearly state STIR the paint, there is even a comment about having to be carful when using the brush directly from the pot, I don’t see how you can stir the paint properly in the pot. One complaint was its acrylic, its sold as Acrylic. There are also comments about it not looking metallic well that’s true if you don’t mix it 😊 The instructions say two coats will be needed which I would have expected on the item I was painting as it was very dark but the picture is after only one coat, even if it takes three coats I will be delighted at the price.

Nice gold paint
This review is for “Wadities Acrylic Paint Metallic Gold”I had a few projects in mind that I thought this would be great for. I did a test run first and have included pictures of what you can expect from this paint. The darker the background/object and the more layers applied, the more pronounced the gold colour is.The brushes were ok for play and testing but not for serious pieces that you are hoping to sell or display as the fibres come loose.

A bit low on pigment for the price
These 2 bottles of gold acrylic paint are a decent size. The mica pigment does settle a lot in the bottom of the bottles, and the base is a little too thick to redistribute it with just a shake. I stirred with a wooden spatula for some time, but could still see the colour more dense at the bottom, so then used a paintbrush to better scrape the sides of the bottle to mix it further. I was mixing for over10 minutes and still noted some denser streaking of pigment towards the bottom, so I'd suggest maybe storing them upside down to make stirring easier.Despite the excessive mixing, the colour is pretty thin and translucent with one coat and results in quite a patchy finish, so it certainly needs multiple coats to get a solid, even result, and that's fairly matte. I found it worked better thinned with water to add a shimmery wash, rather than trying to achieve a solid gold shade with it.To be honest, it's very similar in pigment and end result to larger bottles and tubes I've bought from high street stationery/book stores at a much lower price. Had it been similarly priced to these, I'd have rated it 4* for quality vs price, but at £14.99 for a total of 250ml, I feel the quality should be better.

Hard to paint with uniformly and requires multiple coats
I have loads of golden accented things in my home so I was very excited to get this paint and do a refresh of the colours.I'm very sad to report though that this paint is rubbish. At best I think this paint is adequate for porous surfaces that will "absorb" the paint, though you will still need multiple coats. For any other surface, this paint is extremely hard to work with - it doesn't spread uniformly and streaks, needs multiple coats and even then still can be seen through, especially on surfaces that are not lightly coloured. To add insult to injury, this isn't strong paint, so you will leave marks on it almost immediately if whatever you painted you actually use (for instance cupboard handles). If you do end up using this paint I highly suggest using some sort of top coat to help protect the paint.Overall though, I found this paint to be extremely disappointing and given the rather high price for the quantity I'd firmly suggest looking for other alternatives.

They're OK
Included in this set are two gold metallic paints and two short, flat, wide paintbrushes. The photo makes it look like the brushes are long and thin, they're not. I was surprised by the brushes as the bottles are so small it's clear that they would be used for small details, so it is a little odd to supply larger brushes designed to be used on a large area. Or why not have a variety - one large and flat, the other long thin and with a tipped brush? The paint itself is very loose and the pigment separates a bit so you need to shake it a LOT before using it so it mixes fully in, otherwise it's not a good effect. Once fully mixed, the paint itself is easy enough to use and goes well on prepared wood. I find that two coats of this is sufficient. The colour is a nice, vibrant shade of gold and it's very metallic so has a nice sparkly effect.Overall, they're nice paints just be sure to give them a good shake and remember these are acrylics so will stain clothes. Different brushes would have been better.

Shimmer and Shine
This gold metallic acrylic paint set exceeded my expectations! It comes with two generously sized jars of paint. The paint applies smoothly and evenly, giving a beautiful metallic gold finish. While the paint covers well, I did find that on some surfaces like wood, it required multiple coats for adequate coverage. This might be a consideration for beginners looking for quick results. Overall, I'm impressed with the quality and versatility of these gold metallic acrylic paints. They are perfect for various artistic projects and offer a stunning metallic sheen that enhances any surface.

Requires many coats!
Though I can use this paint in my studio for gell printing, it is too sheer for one coat applications. I wanted to use it for painting wood coasters and small rocks; I found myself needing to apply 3 coats to get adequate coverage. Unfortunately, I think beginners might find the results a little frustrating. I kept it this paint solely because it works ass resists for watercolor paintings and for mono printing handmade papers for collage.

Large jars
I really like this gold metallic acrylic paint! This comes with two nice large jars (larger than I was expecting). The paint goes on smoothly, and is a beautiful metallic gold color. I use this to paint my epoxy resin projects, and it works perfectly. The two brushes it comes with are nice brushes, but are very wide (an inch or so wide) for what I need, so I use a smaller paint brush.I highly recommend these gold metallic paints to others, they are very nice quality and look great!
