Hard to know
These seem to work good because every time I microwave them the excess moisture driven out is visible on microwave plate and the fabric is moist. When it needs to be dried out the beads change from an orange to a green color. It doesn’t take long to become green. I’m curious during the drier months if it still changes colors that quickly.

Gun safe must-have
Having had to clean rust off of an old barrel once, I never want to do it again. I just got a new safe, so I needed a new dehumidifier package. My personal rule? There's no reason to not have extra. This is inexpensive enough to not skimp on.Also, the recharging is super easy.

Super humidifier bags
This kit of two dehumidifier bags is awesome. The bags are literally the same size and weight as cornhole bean bags, but serve a much different purpose. The bags are filled with a orange-brown desiccant material that absorbs moisture in the air. There is a plastic window in the bags, and you'll notice that the material turns blue-purple when exposed to that moisture. These bags can be refreshed either in the microwave or oven by following the directions printed on the bag. What a great product for your safe!

Fast Acting
Firstly, the quality of the pouches is outstanding. Much more robust than I expected. Each pouch contains approximately 8.5 ounces of desiccant media with a combined total weight of over a pound in this two-pack.I've used aluminum tin desiccant packs for many years so I'm familiar with the color change and keep a dedicated toaster oven to periodically dry the desiccant media to recharge them. I'm very interested in how these fabric pouches will fare in the oven. While one can use a microwave to recharge the packs, I have no interest in exploring this recharging method.I work with humidity control frequently in my efforts to keep things dry and also keep things humidified. I set up a sealed test chamber with a constant humidity source and a calibrated hygrometer. The humidity source was capable of creating a 78% relative humidity environment within 4 hours of sealing the lid. I added the two pouches and resealed the lid and let the desiccant work for another 4 hours. The pouches had reduced the humidity level within the test chamber to 21%. I've included a graph from the hygrometer showing how quickly the pouches worked to counteract the constant humidity created by the humidity source. This was an extreme case, but let me know these pouches work great and are capable of reducing humidity levels quickly.Initially, I set one pouch out on my workbench for several days to test the pouch in our ambient home humidity of approximately 50%. After several days I shook the pouch and could see several of the beads had started to color change from orange to green through the observation window. The color change indicator is very obvious. In closing, these pouches are great. I anticipate additional purchases of Wisesorb desiccant packs in my future as they are available in a multitude of packaging formats and sizes.

Guess it works, needs charging often
Seems like I'm charging these at least every other day. I guess that means they're working. The color part is interesting as the material of the bags are starting to stain orange like the beads. I leave them to dry in the shade on my porch since I live in the desert.Takes about one day dry them outside since I don't like the idea of microwaving dank sink and mildewy basement type water where I also heat up my coffee and cook my food, you know?I haven't noticed and leakage and the bags seem to be holding up pretty well. Strong material. It's hard to tell how well it's performing, so I assume it's helping with humidity somehow, because it's changing colors, I guess. I hoping in the long run these will prove a good value as I prefer the calcium water trap type bags but I like that these can be used over and over.
