Stephen Charnockʼs Divine Providence
Stephen Charnockʼs Divine Providence is an excellent book on knowing the Providence of God. I am sure it helps for individual or group Bible study.

Refreshment to One's Soul
This book has totally captivated me and I am not one who typically reads old Puritan books. A HUGE thanks to Carolyn Whiting for her work in modernizing Charnock's work so that it is truly accessible to people like me. I hope she works on some other books. I have bought 10 copies so far for my friends and family.

What Puritan writers do best
We tend to think that the modern writers of the last 50 years have a lock on theology until we read the Puritans. Charnock well represents the early reformers of the 1600s who sought to distill the scriptures of man's ideas from God's pure Word. There's no fluff here. Carolyn Whiting has done a beautiful job of bringing out in contemporary language the truth of scripture as commented upon in 17th century vernacular.
