Aoshima 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X CZ4A Final Edition 1:24 Model Kit Kit 057957

I wanted to build a model of my old Evo X MR. I had used the prior version of this model kit over 10 years ago, the evolution x "option" kit. I had a mishap with that build, and the kit had gotten so expensive that I didn't try another build.Years later, I decide to look into that kit again, and see this version for the final edition that allows you to build those older versions.In theory, this works, except there were some problems. Luckily, I had saved my parts from my incomplete kit from 10 years ago so I could appropriately build the Evo X MR I wanted to do, and is advertised here.The first problem I immediately saw was that the BBS wheels on the MR were white in this kit. Only the GSR Enkeis had a metallic like finish. Luckily, I still had the BBS wheels from the prior kit with the appropriate finish to use instead. This wasn't the only finish issue though. The exhaust on this kit is white, where on the prior kit it was a steel-like color.Speaking of the white plastic, it's very shiny, and I had some primer that wouldn't adhere to it at all. It's just not that great for painting on, which is why when parts are provided in that plastic instead of the appropriate finish type, it's disheartening. I had backup parts, but I imagine most would not, and have to deal with this crappy white plastic.The decal sheet on this model kit is expanded to allow you to apply various decals for the 07, 09, and final edition evo. However, not all the decals have all of the options. Between the gauges is a display, with 3 options depending on what you're building, but you only get the gauges for the final edition, which are different from the older versions.The decal for the nav kit is new, but it's actually the wrong size for the display which is awkward.Lastly, the mesh for the grill wasn't included at all, yet was mentioned in the instructions. Once again, I was lucky I had my old parts and could still assemble it.I'd at if you want to build a Final Editon, get this kit, but if you want to build a GSR or MR, find the older kit if you want the accuracy and better parts.Lastly, I really wish there were spare fog light pegs. Man those are so brutal to put in. Both times I've built this kit I had a fog light peg fly away and disappear into the void. Pains me every time I look at it.
