This is a nice looking gate. It was pretty easy to install and it keeps the children safe near the stairway. Overall this is a good quality gate that should last a long time.

In short, for the (as I write this) cost of $70, this is a great gate. It's coated to look like wood, but it's metal and quite sturdy.This is not intended to be quick to remove and relocate like temporary gates are. That said, it only took a couple of minutes to get it put in place on my doorway. The instructions are sparse but adequate with good (but small) images showing the steps. Absolutely don't cut the zip tie near the latch until the gate is fully installed (and it's very well labeled to not do that). I cut it too early on a similar gate that I got last year, and I had to zip tie it back together before installing.Speaking of that other gate, it included a ramped plastic piece that sat under the frame of the gate and made it easier to not trip. That would have been a really nice addition to this gate, and hopefully they'll add something like that in the future. If that's something that you would want, there are a number of gates like this available on Amazon.You'll want to periodically check and make sure the gate is still securely in place and not getting loose.Overall, not a bad deal whatsoever at $70.

Metal Mesh Baby Gate with Wood Pattern, 40.6-46''The wood coloring is very nice and the metal construction makes it more long lasting than most wood gates. We like that as long as you don't open it all the way, the gate shuts itself after being opened. It is also nice that the door can swing open either way. You do have to pull up after unlocking in order to swing the door open so can't really have both hands full.We did not find the gate to be as easy to install as another pressure mounted gate we have. Apparently our definition of pressure mounted does not match the manufacturer's. We need it to be fully pressure mounted without attaching any parts to a wall or door frame for several reasons, including to be able to freely move it from place to place. Sometimes we need it in one location or another in the house and sometimes we need it on the deck stairs. Because the bolts only slide into the gate slots and do not screw into the gate, we found it difficult to adjust the tension as the entire bolt would rotate while trying to tighten the "nut". We eventually got it installed, but found it more challenging than expected. This will make it more frustrating and time consuming to move locations as well.

I have to have a baby gate to prevent my dog from having a buffet of the cat litter box. We've been using one of the white metal baby gates that are usually from $59-70 for the last few years. The opening mechanism is about to die on it so I needed a replacement. It's a very narrow space so that was something I considered. At the time of writing this review, the gate was selling for $89.99. I would pay this much for this, and I'm a very frugal person. This seems like it will last.It's sturdily built. The wood is attractive and would blend in nicely in a house with a wooden staircase; as it is, this gate razzledazzles the entry to my bathroom area. The metal mesh on the front is strong. I don't think the dog or cats will be able to mess it up at all. I would feel very comfortable using this at some stairs to prevent a child from going down until that child figured out climbing, but in that case no gate helps at all.The door swings both ways, which is an improvement over the one that this is taking the place of. I'm not sure of the mechanism within the gate for closing and how long it will last but it is working wonderfully now. I'm hoping that it's built better than the other one we had, which is basically built to break down after a while.It was pretty easy to put up. My only problem is that the screws will drill out in the center. They're not super soft like some screws you get, but they're not the hardest either. I ended up putting aside the drill and just screwing them in by hand. They give you extra screws, though, so you'll be covered.

There should be 2 U-Shaped bolts, but they are V-shapes and not as sturdy since i'm installing this for stairs. Also, there should be 4 double sided adhesive pads, but they are only 1-sided. It makes installing this not the easiest.

This is such a great gate to protect your littles from going to places you don't want them to go to. I don't think it'll hold back a dog, but to stop your child from going up/down the stairs, YES! The mesh screen is hard and doesn't conform, the turning of the pressure nuts works well, tho I have had to retwist them. Overall this is perfect for anyone trying to get a nice-looking gate for their home.

I haven't had any issues with this gate it goes up nice and works as it should.

The gate has a lock and freely shuts itself after being opened. I really like the self-close feature especially because not everyone shuts the gate back. The door is also flexible in design because it may be opened both ways. The mesh look is nice because it adds some sense of privacy as opposed to all metal bars. The gate is built well, has sturdy hardware and easy directions for set up. This is good for pets and for kids.
