Almost Perfect Small Work Knife
This is my second Civivi knife, even though I just bought my first to be my work knife, but thought this was better suited for the role and now use my first as my new EDC since the Voltaic is a bit more elegant and fine. As a work knife for someone who works around the public while doing some potentially dirty jobs and tough tasks, I thought this small 3" knife would look a little more discrete/friendly. With a 3mm thick blade and lots of steel in tack on the blade cheek, this geometry won't fail me at modest prying and stabbing tasks. The removal of steel by the spine/swedge is kind of a weird waste to me, but I suppose could serve as a thumb rest for some tasks. The gentle gradual curvature from tip to choil is perfect for slicing while maintaining the appearance of a straight edge. The swedge, tip, and belly are narrow enough for getting into those tough plastic bands that hold boxes together on pallets. Nitro-V steel is tough and corrosion resistant, allowing this knife to take some light abuse in dirty situations such as hurricane relief. The ceramic bearings work very well after I added a drop of CLP.For the version of my knife, I went with black coated blade and G10 to protect the knife from hazardous material. I'd love the green micarta version instead, but G10 is easier to wash off, and I always prefer a coated blade. I chose this knife based on my time helping hurricane disaster areas and passing out hurricane supplies like food and water.I would recommend this knife for anyone looking for a small light EDC during relief efforts, such as first responders and public outreach type people. It comes out of the box with a shaving sharp edge, and Nitro-V will hold an edge much longer than many $25 knives, so it's definitely worth the investment to pay $50 instead for a knife that will serve you and your community with the same performance as some $200 knives. You don't want to be in the middle of a mission far from home just to find out that your knife isn't good enough for plastic straps.I say almost perfect in the title because the handle could be better. If it hurts your pinky, you can switch the clip to the other side. It's not as comfortable as the Praxis, but you can learn to use this knife comfortably. Maybe my hand's too big for it? I was worried about buying a 3" knife, but it's not bad for grip. 3" is at least perfect to go with 3mm thickness, not too thin. If only the Regulatron came in a 4mm thick 4" version, that'd be wonderful, especially with a green or coyote handle to pair with a black blade.

The Little Beast That Means Business
If a pocket knife could walk into a bar and order a whiskey neat, it would be the CIVIVI Regulatron. This 2.98-inch Nitro-V blade may not be the biggest knife in the room, but it sure as hell acts like it. Sharp, durable, and tougher than your uncle’s old truck, this blade can handle EDC tasks with ease—whether you're slicing open packages, cutting rope, or whittling a toothpick like an old-school badass. The wood handle? Smooth, classy, and just rugged enough to make you feel like a gentleman who could also survive in the wild. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and fits in the pocket like it belongs there.Flipping action? Crisp, satisfying, and fast. The liner lock holds tight like a firm handshake from your granddad—zero play, just solid reliability.Final Verdict:The Regulatron is a knife that punches above its weight—classy yet capable, compact but tough as nails. Perfect for guys who want a sleek, no-fuss EDC knife that still knows how to throw down when needed. 8.8/10—because sometimes, great things come in smaller packages (except when it comes to steak, of course).

Impressed
My first Civivi product. I wouldn't classify myself as a knife expert. I own a few pocketknives, but they are usually ones I found at the store in the mall. Recently I have been exploring some mid to higher end knives and came across this one. I liked the design and price point, so I decided to buy it. Immediately upon opening the amazon packaging I was impressed. It comes in a box, with a nice protective zipper pouch, cleaning rag and documents. The knife itself is really well made, and extremely sharp! The flipper tension feels just right and responds to more of a flick than steady pressure. The liner lock locks the blade in securely and can be unlocked with your thumb. Overall, this is easily one of the best knives I've ever owned and am already looking at other Civivi designs to purchase.

Nice smaller flipper
I like Civivi folders, and this one is no exception. Smaller than what I usually prefer, but the hndle is substantial enough to make a nice 3-finger grip. The action is smooth but needed a hair of adjustment to be optimal. Blade shape is just plain fun in the hand, sorta fat for the length. Jimping is cut xcellently and actually functions well. Blade came pretty sharp and shaved very smoothly after just a little stropping with green rouge.Another happy CIVIVI purchase.

Great Daily User
The media could not be loaded. After using the Regulatron exclusively for all knife tasks over a period of 5 days I'm impressed. The Nitro V steel kept a keen edge without needing to be sharpened. I used the Regulatron for food prep, breaking down heavy cardboard boxes, and cutting plastic banding off pallets. The high flat ground blade with thin blade stock makes it super slicey. It's light weight construction didn't weight down my pocket, and the Micarta handles were perfectly grippy and comfortable. Overall it's a bit smaller than my normal preference but was a good fit for my large size hands. It is a great looking knife that runs on bearing for ease of opening and is drop shut on the close. The liner lock is sturdy enough to withstand strikes to the spine of the knife without failing. If your looking for a great knife on the smaller side for daily carry, this one is for you.

Great knife
Really great knife!! I’m a builder, so I need a blade that can handle a wide variety of tasks- this does it. Stout, beautifully crafted and the micarta clad handle feels tough and comfy- like a fave old pair of jeans. Package arrived in perfect condition, right on time- very happy with the vendor (I already bought another knife from them).
