What a talent this guy is .
I've heard Chris Rea's songs like most people over the airwaves over the years . I never listen to the radio these days . I recently bought , The Best of Chris Rea , after hearing some songs of his , at a weekly evening class I attend . I was so please that I did . The CD has so many good songs . It prompted me to buy Chris Rea original album series . This is 5 CD's for the criminally cheap price of £9.99 . I have only just played 2 out of the 5 so far and I'm hooked . There are so many excellent songs on these . To all the Chris Rea fans out there who already know of this musician's wonderful catalogue of great music and to Chris Rea , I'm so sorry what I have been missing over the years , so it's catch up time for me . This 5 Cd collection is a must for serious music lovers . I'm not going to select tracks as people have different tastes . So many good songs and I haven't yet played them all . This musician should be a National Treasure , but then , perhaps he already is . I am pleased to call myself a Chris Rea music fan . Here's wishing you more success in the future Mr Rea , You thoroughly deserve the acclaim .

Cool and clever
I always admired Chris Rea, starting from his "Road To Hell" album. This collection is a great opportunity to remember his old hits and listen to less popular songs. If you want to relax in an elegant atmosphere it is the choice for you. And the price for it is simply nothing. If you are in love with somebody who is far away, you should both listen to the same songs from this collection and you will find poetic words to describe what is between and within you.

Caution - tinkering alert!
Bought this primarily to replace my CD of "Watersign", that has stopped functioning. Also because, for some reason, I never got round to upgrading my favourite Chris Rea album "Shamrock Diaries" from LP to CD. I'm really not sure I should have bothered. The recording quality on Shamrock is appalling... the sound keeps dropping out of the right channel. And I preferred the version of "Josephine" on the LP to the inferior version that appears on the CD. Rea has recorded so many versions of the song, on singles and other compilations; he (or the record company) should have left the original album untampered.
