I am surprised at the quality of the coffee maker for the low price. Doesn't get the coffee quite as hot as I wanted (reason I replaced my previous coffee maker) but works great and looks good on the counter. It did include what I think is a filter but I've always used paper filters so I don't use the new filter. Since it has measured water dispensing (4-12 cups) I can get the full 12 cups on two mornings. I only drink half (6 cups) every morning so I can fill it up, set it for 6 cups and still have 6 cups of water the next morning. Actually 2 cups fills my mug as the cup measure is very small. For the price I feel it' s a good buy.

Need to grab the handle low to avoid the steam when pouring fresh pot of coffee

So far this is an excellent coffee maker. The coffee tastes fresh and delicious. Stays nice and hot after its made.

All the features of this coffee maker work as described EXCEPT IT'S COFFEE TASTES AND SMELLS LIKE PLASTIC! YUCK!! I spent a lot of time running 8 -10 full pots of water through it including white vinegar water with no success. The leaching of plastic in my coffee concerns me. So you see, none of it's programming or other fancy features matter at all because the coffee it makes is horrible. This is another of life's examples of "you get what you pay for". ***DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT***

I do not have a good history with coffee brewers priced at under $100. So far, I have used this product every day for about a month, and it has worked admirably. I confess that I got more intense flavored coffee with the Mr. Coffee unit, but the power supply failed. The design difference I noted was that Mr. Coffee has a broader distribution of hot water over the coffee grounds. Yet, the taste variation is marginal, especially if you add a slightly larger amount of grounds. Typically, I have to buy a replacement unit every year. Testimony, I guess, about getting what you pay for. Nonetheless, this unit provides high quality cups with an option for strong brew. No complaints so far.
