I have ended up with 4 of these network adapters for my home network :)!I'm using a Lenovo Tiny with Proxmox on it, I bought this USB adapter to expand the amount of available ports and started to play with pfSENSE. I'm IT chap but I started my adventure with Linux/Unix about a year ago, so everything is still new to me. After connecting it to USB 3.0 in my Lenovo Tiny and rebooting Proxmox, it found it straight away, without any additional configuration, ta da! I've added another bridge and it was ready to create a VM with pfSENSE. Quick first install and ta da! pfSENSE worked straight away.Note, if you notice that you get slow internet connection on pfSENSE and it is virtualized, don't blame this adapter, it is absolutely fine! You just need to disable hardware checksum offload, navigate under SYSTEM > ADVANCED and select NETWORKING tab. Under NETWORKING INTERFACES section check the DISABLE HARDWARE CHECKSUM OFFLOAD and click save, reboot.Edited:So after I've ordered 3 more of these NICs I decided to update this review for Windows users too. Card was discovered and installed by Windows even without any system notification. It is always good to update the drivers, so I've done this too. Windows automatically searched for and updated the drivers. After the update there were few additional options available in the advanced settings. I've tested the transfer and on my 1 gigabit network I usually get transfers around 80-105 MB/s (depends on how busy the network is), but this card was giving me only about 35MB/s, so I've checked card advanced settings and it was set to detect connection speed automatically. I've changed that to 1 Gbps Full Duplex and it started to work as it should! This card allowed me to download files with about 85 MB/s which is pretty standard for my network, so yes you can easily achieve 1 gigabit connection via USB 3.0 with this network card.The only issue I found is the high gloss case, which gets easily scratched when you just wipe it. In my opinion it would be better when manufacturer would use matt plastic. But this doesn't bother me at all.Card is well made, works great and it is CHEAP!

So I recently built a gaming PC and my brand new Gigabyte Aorus Z370 motherboard was perfect in till recently when the ethernet port became faulty. Now this motherboard is still under warranty but its a lot of hassle removing and storing all of my components whilst I wait for a replacement, I also need my PC.I decided to try this and I can say its very good, if your current PC/laptop already has an ethernet port remember to disable it or else you wont be receiving the best download and upload speeds that you should be getting. But yeah this adapter is really simple and effective to use.

This may be a little bit more expensive than the cheapest available but it's a good high quality item that supports a full 1Gbps network speed (when plugged into a USB 3 port). Since getting a new laptop without a network port I've been on the lookout for an adaptor. I've used Syncwire products before and been very happy, so it was logical to give this one a go.As usual, the quality of the item belies it's price. It feels really solid, and even has a little LED to tell you when you're connected. It just plugs and plays, no hassle finding drivers. It's nice and speedy too.So if you ever need a network connection and there's no wifi, if you have one of these in your bag you won't need to worry.Brilliant little product, great price.

The claimed 1Gbps speed is a blatant lie, I run fibre to premises and get over 900mb download on speed tests with direct Ethernet skipping this device out. I tested this device on the same device via usb 3.0 slot and would hover around 180-280 download speed fluctuating. This is not a 1Gbps capable device, unless there is some kind of setting up for this to perform better I am not aware currently as how to, I have already checked device manager settings aswell.

I have a macbook pro (mid 2014) and the wifi receiver was getting increasingly flaky. Teams calls kept dropping - real pain. Got this, plugged it into a powered USB hub and the mac detected it straight away. Turned off the wifi and now have a rock solid internet connection. Nice bit of kit.

This has the Realtek 8153B chip in it.OpenBSD 7 has rge driver for Realtek NICs like the 8125 PCI series. But OpenBSD also has a specific USB NIC driver for devices like this. It was plug and play. The driver is “ure”.I can’t attest for performance or stability yet, but as it’s Realtek I don’t envisage any issues. Device seems made well enough.

L'adaptateur fonctionne parfaitement, pas de perte de débit remarqué, pas non plus de soucis de stabilité, merci à l'USB 3.0 (autrement ça aurait été très mauvais).Pour donner une idée des choses, j'ai utilisé cette adaptateur sur une connexion avec Fibre Optique (1 Gbps max) et j'ai eu effectivement +/- 1Gbps de débit depuis mon pc. (le débit était identique à une autre machine connecté au même réseau mais sans adaptateur)Donc je ne peux que recommander cet adaptateur !

Hallo,ich habe den Adapter für einen alten Laptop mit Windows 7 Pro gekauft, da dieses nur 100Mbit unterstützt. Habe den Adapter angeschlossen und er wurde sofort erkannt. Die Treiber wurden automatisch installiert und alles hat umgehen funktioniert. Die Übertragungsrate im Netzwerk hat er mit 1 Gbit angezeigt und an diesem Laptop habe ich ihn mit 250 Mbit stabil über einige Stunden laufen lassen. Zusätzlich habe ich ihn an einem Laptop mit Windows 10 ausprobiert. Auch hier wurde er ohne Probleme erkannt und konnte stabile Datenübertragung zwischen 0,8 und 0,9 Gbit bieten. Wirklich erwärmt hat er sich dabei nicht.Verarbeitung und Haptik ist vollkommen in Ordnung.Ich kann den Adapter empfehlen.Gruß

Plugged in and it work perfectly.Burchased INSIGNIA brand ethernet USB adapter from Best Buy, had to install software, but the adapter still did not work on PC or Mac. Its trouble shooting asked me to download additional driver offshore from Taiwan. Still not did not work. Did online search and found I am not alone. Many other people had issue when tried to use INSIGNIA adapter. Had to return it to Best Buy. Lesson learned, if you see any one start ever posted about some product, do not buy it.SYNCWIRE adapter is straight five stars, that why I ordered it from Amazon. And, indeed, plug and play, it works well.Thank You SYNCWIRE.

ノートパソコンにwi-fiはついているがLAN端子のあるのは少ない。OS新規インストール後ドライバーのインストールなどでLAN経由でインストールするために購入。新規インストール以外ではほとんど使わないが無いと不便。windows3.1のころに比べると無茶苦茶便利になった。

Ho acquistato il dispositivo per la necessita' di collegare un portatile sul quale la porta ethernet e' danneggiata.Il dispositivo e' basato sul chipset RTL8153 e viene consegnato in una piccola scatola con una grafica ordinata e pulita, che illustra le principali caratteristiche.Le dimensioni sono contenute ed alla fine del breve cablaggio e' presente il connettore USB (supportato usb 3) , coperto da un comodo tappino protettivo che raccomando di non gettare via.All' inserimento del dispositivo, questo viene visto come una memoria e contiene i driver appropriati per l' ambiente windows, il che e' molto comodo.Una volta installati, il dispositivo funziona correttamente senza alcun problema (provato ed usato intensivamente su windows 7, provato e funzionante anche su windows 8. Immagino che w10 sia perfettamente supportato)sono presenti due led di stato (link e attivita') , non viene indicata da questi la velocita' del link.Circa la velocita', sono rimasto sorpreso in quanto la velocita di trasferimento , provata in ambiente corporate su rete gigabit e con un file molto voluminoso, e' maggiore con questo adattatore che con la porta integrata nel mio desktop (di un fattore circa 2 a parita' di condizion di rete).Ad oggi il dispositivo lavora da circa una settimana e non ho trovato problemi di sorta, per cui visto il costo e le prestazioni non posso che raccomandare questo dispositivo per tutti quei casi in cui un computer non abbia l' ethernet integrata ( o come nel mio caso, sia danneggiata) o quando si vuole dotare di connessione gigabit una macchina che supporta solo 100M.Anche utilizzando USB2 si riscontra una velocita' di trasferimento maggiore dei 100mbit dell' ethernet non-gigabit, per cui questo dispositivo si adatta bene a trasferire grossi files anche su pc non dotati di usb3.Sul sito del produttore del chip (realtek) e' possibile trovare i driver per diversi sistemi operativi, incluso Linux e Mac.Posso confermare il funzionamento sotto linux (nel mio caso, Ubuntu) senza alcuna complicazione (davvero plug&play), ma non sono riuscito a farlo lavorare con un Raspberry (piu' una curiosita' che una necessita')In conclusione, ritengo che sia un piccolo dispositivo dalle buone prestazioni e con un costo assolutamente ragionevole, pertanto ne consiglio l' acquisto.come sempre spedizione puntuale da parte della logistica Amazon.
