Using a water thermometer was okay for a while for bathtime but it wasn't really proving practical when you're ready to get your baby in. I had heard of floating ones and this was the best value one I could find, and it's cute too - and works fantastically.Pros:• Takes the fiddliness out of thermometers and bathtime. You just pop it in and it gives real-time temperature readings for the water beneath• A great toy for your little one once in the bath• Secure battery compartment that opens/closes with a key or a penny rotated in the slot• Floats away and gives accurate recordings• Super-cute!Cons:• Listing says not suitable for children under 3 years. I'm using it with our 4 month old but I bathe with her so she'll never put it in her mouth unsupervisedThis little whale has made bathtime so much easier. The flat design means it doesn't topple over much (unless whacked by your baby) and it's so much easier to just glance at this and see that the water is ready (37 degrees recommended to match body temperature). This was the best value and hasn't disappointed - highly recommended from a first time mum needing everything to be as easy as possible!

Good quality and price

Got this to replace a very old Duck thermometer, also to use to read the temp for my fiancée's Birthing pool. Very cute and turns on much easier than my last one. just a slight tap and the display starts up. Floats on the water and gives a quick and readable displayed temperature of the water. Not sure I would need to use it to read a room's temp though.The display stays on for a while. which is good, so you do not need to keep tapping it to turn it back on again

Simple and easy to use, and seems fairly accurate, but takes a little bit of time (less than a minute) to get to the right temperature. Stands up to a bit of abuse from the baby too, so no complaints for the price.

It tells the temperature of the water accurately so child is safe in the bath plus it also becomes a toy ,we bought the whale one and he calls it Big Bad Barry, can also be used as a room temperature guide for his bedroom too

Bought this for my 2nd baby as I bought a different brand with my 1st baby and it stopped working after only a few weeks. This one seems accurate and durable.

Doesn't reliably switch on when tapped or placed in water. No decimal point so not all that accurate.

Sometimes it doesn’t turn on and others it does.
