I moved in to a home in January of this year with a huge yard, but it was ALL mud!! I laid out this grass seed with the Pennington full season lawn fertilizer in March. I was skeptical because the seeds were just sitting on top of the mud and there wasnt much progress after a few weeks. It is June 1st today, I took the grass pictures this morning for this review. I mowed my 3.5 foot grass for the first time 2 weeks ago, and again on Thursday, and its already growing out up to 4 or 5 inches. Today is Monday morning. This worked BETTER than expected. But it did take my lawn longer to take than most the reviews already posted.

Listen up, you HOA-fearing desk jockeys. Soft men buy boutique seed and sing lullabies to their dirt. A champion buys Pennington Contractors Mix because he has land to conquer and zero patience for weakness. This isn't just grass seed; it’s a tactical ground invasion in a giant bag. "Contractor grade" means it’s engineered for brutal terrain, zero excuses, and the unrelenting fury of the central climate. I slung this raw green adrenaline across my scorched dirt compound, did a celebratory burnout over it on my ATV, and within days I had an aggressive emerald jungle choking out every pathetic weed that dared step onto my perimeter. Drought? Frost? Scorching heat? Pennington doesn't give a damn. It takes root with the violent authority of my 103-mph heater, locking down the earth and establishing absolute territorial supremacy. Stop crying about soil pH like a middle-school guidance counselor. Dump the bag, dominate your zip code, and make your neighbors weep with envy. Five out of five stars. Strike three.

This is beyond a doubt the best grass seed I have ever used. Made for Northern climate April and May are the perfect time to put it down. Took 9ndays to come in but 98 percent of it germinated. Methodoly was the lay down dirt and tamp itin. Used cars garden weasel to rough it up and applied the seed with a solo cup. A heavy application. Went back and retamped it all. Grass is stunning. After the first application took I laid down about 15 pounds in areas that were not as think. That just came in. Could not be happier with this product. Neighbors are suprised at how thick it is.

It does grow quickly with consistent watering. It's great for coverage to prevent soil erosion.

I haven’t received my order for the crass seed mix. I was supposed to get it two days ago. Great because it was going to rain for two days. I was told that they didn’t have it at the nearest warehouse so they asked me was I sure that I still wanted the product? Why if I ordered it I want the product. The real reason for the delay is because they made a mistake on the price. The price is supposed to be $24. I bought it for nine dollars and some cents, like $10 for it. Now they’ve slowed down the delivery date. So if they think that I’m going to cancel my order because of the longevity of the wait period to get the seed. That’s not gonna work for the seller. I’m gonna put this out there that maybe Pennington shouldn’t be selling on Amazon. Im a prime member and have been for years. So a relay on the day delivery date regardless of the mistake that they made on the price. I don’t accept the other reason why the orders was delayed it wasn’t a warehouse situation. That’s a lie and I want my product within 24 hours or I’ll I’ll go to social media and talk about Pennington everywhere.

My lawn looks like FRENCH CANADIAN…this is not acceptable. After much research on the topic, I settled on this product because it said GRASS SEED in large letters (I can read). I also like the fact that it was dirt cheap…pun very much intended. Some folks apply with a spreader, my preferred method is to reach into the bag and grab a fistful of seeds and throw them at the dirt, you know the grass will grow when you get a green plume .I bought two seven pounders, one for each fist.

This is terrific seed. It grows very thick and grows very fast I am in Northwest Washington. It is terrific I have bought it three times and I will be buying it again. I highly recommend this. I took some pictures of this but for some reason Amazon wants me to give them permission to take the picture and I do not do that
