She was delighted with the very noticeable performance boost and i was ...
For the daft low price i thought that there was little to lose and plenty to gain in buying this SSD. It was bought to replace the ageing WD `spinner` in the wifes laptop which is an older Equium and although not a snail, its showing its age (The laptop that is)I`ve fitted a 250Gb secondary HDD in the DVD caddy for data storage so this SSD was just to run as the OS `booter`. She didnt know what i had planned or done and the first time she used the laptop it was smiles all round. She was delighted with the very noticeable performance boost and i was pretty chuffed too - My SSDs are Samsung 850 Pro`s and this little beggar is (currently) going almost as fast .If you know how, or do your research and get all your SSD optimising `tweaks` done after installation this little disc performs really well (Dont muck around with your indexing)Long Term capabilities....? who knows, but at little more than twenty quid its virtually disposable as the wifes original HDD still has the OS on it and has been tucked away `just in case`. We`re very pleased with this little `cheapy` which has extended the useful life of a tired little machine , basically for peanuts.

Excellent value - pleasantly surprised - Now Failed
I'm very pleasantly surprised by this drive. It is faster than I expected it to be and, at £23, is astonishing value. It arrived at the early end of the estimate for delivery date and they even offer you 10% off your next purchase from them if you do an FB status on them. Note that the specs vary among the models and this one seems to be part of the faster family.UPDATE: Well, it has failed. I am going to be very even-handed about this. In its favour it lasted for more than 3 years, it was very cheap (though you can get 240GB for this price these days), and there were some problems back then with some SSDs just not being recognised for reasons that wouldn't kill a disk these days and have been overcome. But against it is the fact that it was only ever used on trial machines, and so probably only saw 10 or so days of actual usage. It failed while trying to load a copy of Windows Server 2019 so the problem could have been something to do with the reformatting process, but it had been fine with Server 2012 R2 and 2016. I have quite a lot of experience with cheap drives - Drevo, PNY, Trions and, best of the lot, an OCZ Arc100 - so it's a pity to have to scrub this brand off my list, and I guess with it all the KingXXXX brands with it. Nobody is going to be buying this size of drive at this price these days but this failure may be instructive for someone making a similar sort of decision.

Very impressive
Hadn't bought KingFast before, thought I'd give it a try, bought in 2015, still working in 2024!It was for a backup low power custom server that is an "upgrade" stand-in so may only be used 24/7 for a month or so, but has never had a problem. 60Gb is still plenty for server o.s. use, so the KingFast test was a success. And worth noting about the Kingston, PNY & Crucial SSD's that were bought around the same time and were replaced due to failure a few years later.

Failed after 12 months..
I've had this drive for about a year and it has been working as expected but recently the write speed went down to 3.4mb/s so I backed up the drive and ran a format on the drive to hopefully fix the problem.Unfortunately this did not fix the problem, I wish I spent an extra £5 and bought one from a better known brand.

Good price for a small SSD, Well made. Mediocre performance. Failed after 18 months.
I needed a small 60GB+ replacement drive for an old netbook PC, so went for this as the cheapest option. The SSD works OK. The disk copy from the original HDD worked without any problem. The SSD is housed in a sturdy metal case (some I've used are flimsey plastic), and fitted perfectly into the netbook.Performance seems mediocre for an SSD, only managing 260mbs read and 100 write (AS SSD benchmark), which is poor compared to other SDD l've use (they tend to get 400/120), but still a lot faster than the old HDD they replaced.I bought two of these drives and the comments above apply to both.UPDATE: Bought these Sept 2015. One just failed (in June 2017) 18 months later. Took a while to find out it was the SSD that had failed. The computer kept crashing out. I tried reinstalling Win10 and the install kept freezing. I removed the SSD and tested it as a secondary disk on another computer ........ and it failed a load of diagnostics. Outside the 1 year warranty. Good while it lasted. Disappointing it failed so soon. Dropped review from 3 to 2 star.

Great value.
I'm giving this SSD 5 stars because of the value. I wasn't expecting much from a drive of this price and from a manufacturer I've never heard of, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised.I benchmarked it at 416 MB/s read and 128 MB/s write with an access time of 0.129ms.OK so it's not as fast as the big name SSD's, but it's still faster than any mechanical disk, and at this price I highly recommend it.

A really great setup for a slightly older laptop and this was ...
This drive is not as fast as more well known brands. in fact it is far slower than my Crucial branded drive but this one was purchased for my laptop and was the cheapest SSD that i could find with 60gb of space. it is FAR faster than the spinning rust that was in there before.I installed Xubuntu on to it and added my old mechanical drive into a cradle where my DVD drive WAS (drive bay adapter was about £9) and had that as my /home partition. This combination maximises the use of the SSD usage for my OS and give me plenty of space for my files on the older drive. A really great setup for a slightly older laptop and this was the cheapest solution i could find. i am very happy with it.I would have given 5 stars if the read write figures were published on the item description page visibly and accurately.
