Easy to unpack, works well
From the beginning:It was delivered to my porch. Easy to carry inside, it weighs about the same as a 5000BTU window unit. I carried it in by the straps and set it by where I wanted it.It was very easy to unpack, just cut the two straps and the whole shipping carton easily lifts straight up and off. After that, cut another strap and the other packing material can be pulled away easily. All of the accessories - exhaust hose, window bracket, remote control and other hardware is in a tray on top.(No batteries for the remote, though. Get some AAAs to be ready. All that's left is to lift it off the carton base and set it where you want it.I would suggest keeping the plastic bag to cover the unit for winter storage. The exhaust hose is about 6" in diameter and 64" long, fully extended. It gets very hot, so since it's inside the room, I'll wrap it in an insulated blanket to help keep the room cool.It also seems a bit flimsy, so I wouldn't count on moving the unit very much. It's like the bending section of a plastic straw. Don't extend it until you're ready to mount it, and then only as much as you need to to reach the window.Collapsing it shorter is a real pain.Since my computer room is my old breakfast nook, the only window is above the kitchen counter, and the hose wouldn't reach. So I set this unit on the counter, which works pretty well as it places the outlet up high, where it needs to be to cool the room best. Cold air descends, after all.Heh. That also put the water drain next to the sink, so I only needed 3" of tubing to let it continuously drain into the sink and ignore the whole drain into bucket/empty bucket process. The window mount is pretty solid, don't forget to install the one screw that holds the hose adapter to the window mount. So, how well does it work? Very well. The fan has only two speeds, high and hurricane, but it's no noisier than the window unit that it's replacing. The filters are easy to remove, and a bit difficult to replace. Start reinstalling them bottom corner first, and it's much easier....Pros:Pretty light and small, easy to move.Easier to set up than a window unit.Cools as it should. Not annoyingly loud, the sound is about the same as a window A/C, a rushing wind noise.Sleep mode works very well. On or off, the compressor cycles (quietly) and the fan runs full time at low speed. So you're going to sleep to the rather pleasant sound of white noise. It's pretty efficient. According to the big yellow sticker on the side, the operating range for similar models is $87-$120 per year. This one comes in at $99. Not too shabby. You have more window to see out of than with a window A/C....Cons:The exhaust hose is flimsy and gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch. It radiates a little heat back into the room that you're trying to cool. It's also very difficult to collapse back if you extend it more than you need to.The window bracket is a one-size-fits-none, you will almost certainly have to cut it to fit. There's nothing included to help seal the window opening, either. The fan causes a powerful draft, which can be uncomfortable if aimed anywhere near you. But you'll feel some air movement wherever you are in the room.I wish there was a setting that would shut the fan off when the compressor isn't running. "eco mode", I think it's called. It's actually 7100 BTU DOE, which is the most used measure of cooling. But it says so in the description, so they don't hide it.Longevity? Who can say, it's an unknown brand....Conclusion? This is just too nice, easy to set up, and easy to use. I'll probably never buy another window A/C again.

Portable AC 12000BTU
The media could not be loaded. First let me say, my house is fully AC'd but my temperature gauge and my son's temperature guague are on two different hemispheres. My AC is never low enough for him. When I'm asleep I don't want to be in an icebox, so I figured I'd get him something for his room. This AC arrived and I did a an unboxing. It's a very beautiful looking AC if anyone's wondering. It's compact and lightweight enough that I can lift it and I'm a tiny woman. It does have wheels, so easily rolls about.Putting it together and installing was really easy, took between 7/10 minutes. Turning it on and off was a simple click of the remote or manually by tapping the control buttons on top the AC. Either one is a simple click or tap.Installation was really easy also, think of plug and play kinda thing. The only hiccup I ran into was I had to cut like I wanna say two/ three inches off the window sealing plate and because my window has a dip, I needed a small piece of wood for the dip in my window to make it even. As you can see it fitting really nicely.Told my son to check his room in 10 minutes and report back to me with his opinion. He's 16 years old. I set it at 61. He was like I had to raise it because it was cold in my room. But it did the job. And he's happy. Went back to check a couple hours later, he had it set at 75. 75 was still too cold for me, but he's happy and it works well. Now for the noise level, honestly I don't have a problem with the noise level think about how a fan sounds, that's it really. My son sleeps with music, the sound of a fan ain't gonna bother him.Takeaways, easy to set up and install. Affordable, nicely made, compact, remote control.Video and pics attached.
