Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier Volume 2 TPB

I'm a huge Bucky fan and I don't know what they were thinking, but as I said in the review for the first part, I liked the ending. It was very different from the other stories, I'm still hoping for a series where they ship him with Natasha and a happy ending, or maybe he finds his "Dot."

As flawed as this series is, I'm sad to see it end so quickly. I would've liked to see more of Bucky's odd adventures in space, minus the insta-love with a random alien princess. The main story did reach a conclusion, it didn't leave on a cliffhanger. But with so many possibilities in space, they could've taken this a lot farther. But I can understand why it wasn't very popular, as it's odd and not the usual superhero fare. The art remains gorgeous in this volume, and I hope to see more of that style someday.

I bought this series expecting an action packed story with The Winter Soldier aka Bucky fighting monsters, aliens, etc. Instead I got some barely comprehensible drawn out romance peppered with pacifist violence and art that resembles a crappy LSD trip. If that's what you want, go for it. Otherwise, don't waste your money.Oh, and Old Loki is in here for some reason.

This comic was really weird. I miss Ed Brubaker.

Plot holes big enough to land a helicarrier in. Absolutely no action. The heroes foil Lokis plot with an off panel punch. Characters miraculously return to life a la the end of Billy Madison. The disadvantage of bad digital books is that you can't even use them as toilet paper
