Good replacement option
**Bottom Line Up Front:**This is a great option for the GMT-800 chassis. The installation process is straightforward and relatively easy. Many online videos demonstrate the installation process. The bushings come with good hardware, including lock nuts and bolts. The bushing materials appear solid, and the mounting bracket matched the frame holes perfectly. Owners of GMT-800 trucks (1999 to 2009) with Allison and NP transfer cases, please see the cautionary note below.**Detailed Assessment:**After 21 years of rough dirt roads and sometimes brutal streets, the torsion bar bushings on my GMC Sierra 2500HD finally gave out. I couldn't figure out what the "banging" noise was under the truck as I drove down the dirt road to my house. Honestly, it sounded like the transmission or transfer case was about to fall out of the truck.Sourcing replacement bushings locally was difficult, and the available options were ridiculously priced (three to four times the cost of these). This kit was easy to install. The most challenging part was removing the factory rivets that held the old bushings in place. I used an angle grinder to flatten the rivet head and then drilled out the remaining rivet material. Installing the new bushings was easy with the hardware included in the kit. I recommend adding some Loctite (242 - medium strength) to provide extra security to the lock nuts. The ride quality of the truck improved, and it no longer sounded like the transfer case or transmission was going to fall out.**Special Note to Owners of Trucks with Allison and NP Transfer Cases:**It is well known that the weight of the transfer case puts a lot of stress on the alloy housing between the transfer case and transmission. When I discovered the bad bushings, the connecting transfer case bolts were loose between the two components. Fortunately, there was no damage to the adapter housing. I installed a new gasket and bolts with Loctite 242, torqued to specification.
