Casual style and clear instructions. Super book
We live in Bournemouth and have lots of friends with this book. After using it, borrowing it, and relying on it, it was finally time to get our own copy. Lovely variation of distances just right for our super lazy 9YO and 11YO girls. Most are perfectly dog friendly and there’s some nice touches of things to see on route, like a model boating lake or people flying radio controlled aeroplanes.A nice simple layout, easy to follow instructions for each walk, and a nice casual style of writing. Also lots of tips on how not to get you feet wet! 😂Also a Little history and background to some of the places and buildings which is a nice bonus.

Pocket sized New Forest walking guide
I like Pathfinder guides as they are small enough to fit in your coat pocket, are neatly laid out, easy to follow and full of information. The Guide contains 20 walks within the New Forest National Park ranging from the easiest and shortest at 2 miles to the longest at 5.5 miles. Each walk contains a detailed OS map with the route highlighted thereon which is accompanied by text which literally walks you through the route with clearly marked way points. The guides also contains various photographs to make things more interesting. All in all a very nice guide if you are visiting the New forest and enjoy walking. You don't have the follow the walks exactly but they give you a good starting point for exploring the area.

Good guide for short walks
Handy pocket book to take out. I did expect it to be slightly thicker.

Needs some changes
Used this and also the peak district book recently. Not always clear where to start, the books assume you know the areas or have access to co-ordinates, not always the case. Nearby postcodes would be helpful. The walks start out well with fairly clear directions, but several times we have got lost halfway round, again the writer seems to assume that the walker knows the area well. Not always clear whether to turn right left or go straight on at a crossroads in the path. The lengths of the walks were not always accurate, one 4 mile walk turned out to be 6 miles and we did not get lost on that one. Saying that, the walks we did were pleasant
