Lake District Walks for all Ages: 20 Short Walks for All the Family

Purchased this book because I had bought version for the North Yorkshire Moores which kept my nieces entertained and planning future walks for next time they visit the area. The Lake District version copied the standards of the first and became the mainstay for our visit with detailed route information for exceptional walks.

This book has crucial errors, and lots of them.On page 5 the walks are listed and give a distance.E.g. Walk 5 says 2.5 miles Page 24.Page 24 starts off with the description, page 25 has the box entitled THE BASICSDistance in miles 6.25 😱A difference of almost 4 miles!Looking through the book only one walk matches in distance.Which distance is correct? The contents page or the walk BASICS ?When you’re walking with young children knowing the distance isn’t BASIC it is very important.

A couple of the routes are a bit general. But what's a walk without a wrong turn or.a path without the foxgloves in flower!!

Some good walks

The distance of the walks differs between what’s on the index page for any particular walk and what’s on that walk’s description page - on one they can be listed as bring twice as long as on the other! That makes this ‘guide’ wholly unreliable, if they can’t even get something so basic right what other errors will there be??
