I was so excited when I found this knock-off shrinky dink kit. I was not displeased however, I will say that the pencils leave a lot to be desired so the fist thing I am going to recommend is that if you get this kit, plan on using your own colored pencils that are more trustworthy. To get any color depth, you need to be able to color with some firmness and their pencils with this kit were breaking constantly, it was very frustrating. Other than that, this kit comes complete with everything you need to make some really cute keychains. I would say the age appropriation would be 4 yrs and up, but always with adult supervision when it comes to the heating portion. I recommend a toaster oven not used for food if you have one. It's non-toxic but since I have a toaster oven I use for my sublimation projects, I just used that and it worked perfectly you just have to keep a closer eye on it since a toaster oven is much smaller and will bake these much faster. These shrinkey dink sets are super fun and very easy to do. My 2 year old and I colored the ones pictured, and she even said "wow" as she watched me shrink them with a heat gun. The set comes with colored pencils that stick to the matte side perfectly, and become even more vibrant as it shrinks. With a heat gun, they take about 15 seconds to shrink, but they will blow away easily, so I used a pair of scissors to hold the tiniest corner down while hitting it with the heat and it worked fantastic. I did also flip 2 of them, as the first one shriveled upward, and flipping and heating for 5 to 10 more seconds made it flatten. This is going to be a fun activity for both my toddler and 8yr old to do over the summer. There are enough pieces here to create a ton of little keychains and such, and it takes all of 2 minutes to set up and put away, without much mess or hassle. Fast setup and cleanup is always a great deal in my book with our busy schedules. All around this was fun, and I loved the smiles and excitement my 2 yr old had getting to color these and watching them shrink. Great activity! Would love to order more at some point.

This is such a good deal compared to the original shrink plastic. The plastic sheets are comparable if not better than said original brand, easy to color on and easy to cut out. This set comes with 12 double duty pencils as they are not regular colored pencils but watercolor pencils(I tested them they work). The fact that they are watercolor pencils allow for a much nicer look after shrinking. The colors are vivid and beautiful, they are to be used with less pressure than with regular colored pencils as they are a bit softer. They thought of everything you would need to create completed projects, from earrings to keychains ,even pins! The preprinted design sheets are super cute and good for inspiration for the 10 blank paper sized sheets. Make sure to color on the frosted side (not shiny). I love shrink projects and this set did not disappoint. Definitely recommend.

I like this idea, you draw what you want, color it, and use heat to shrink it. The amount of custom trinkets you can make is just so cool. Giving people the chance to be creative and keep their work is just great, because what happens is when you heat it up it shrinks, becoming smaller, thicker and harder like any hard acrylic keychain.

I love doing craft weekends with my daughter. And I'm always looking for something fun to try. When I saw these I had flashbacks to when I was a child and we would make the little shrinky things. Yep that's pretty much what this is. We were able to color them in, pop them in the oven, shrink them down. She's now able to make them into cute little earrings or charms for her bracelet. They work just as well as you'd hope they would. And are fun for a weekend activity.
