HTH 52016 Super Shock Treatment Swimming Pool Cleanser, 1 lb

I've used this hth twice, 3 bags to shock yellow off sides and clear up this lg pool. Problem: Yellow didn't die. Needed to scrub yellow off walls each day after, although pool is much clearer. 2nd time using hth same happened but in the past a pool store worker had added 'baking soda' to his self made product, he wouldn't say why, so I decided to try baking soda, regular 1# box, only on yellow spots along with 3 bags of hth shock and yellow disappeared! For longevity, I need a week to observe but yellow seems to have disappeared unlike 1st try. Pool is much clearer and pristine!

Not a fan of the shock value of this product I prefer cal hypo which is over %70 active ingredient BUT my water has NEVER been so crystal clear especially over a month later. Will buy again for maintance of pool for this factor alone.Much later review. Still using the product every couple of months to clear my pool water and I had this on subscribe and save but my subscription stated out of stock. Now I see why! Price has more then DOUBLED! Amazon is really starting to bite the big one. This happens alot of subscribe and save to the point I am shutting it down! SHAME ON YOU AMAZON!

I use this product as a supplement to chlorine tabs. Its definitely much easier to use than the tabs, but I use it for a quick shock when the pool needs it. We have a 20x40 in ground pool and instead of waiting for the tabs to kick in one to two bags of this will bring chlorine to where it is needed. Ill also toss one in after a downpour or a few in if we are going out of town for a weekend to make sure we come back to a clean pool.

This stuff works!! It's concentration is good enough that you only need two packs for a 24000 gallon pool. It's price is pretty good, and I have to say for someone who just started cleaning his own pool, this is a lifesaver. It's like a reset button for those who are beginners and need help with pool maintenance that's gets out of hand. I have poured it into my pool both ways (one Just dumping the powder, and one mixing it in water and then pouring it in). It makes no difference, and I think it easier to just pour the content straight in. It didn't discolor my pool.qq

This product was a bargain for your buck it was a little bit cheaper than even going to Walmart and purchasing it yourself packs came clean worked amazingly clear the pool no problems

I have used a lot of shock for my pool and this has the best value for your money. It really did the job in one shock and it has been over a month with a lot of rain and I haven't had to add any more. I can't tell you how much shock I had to add with the other stuff. Save yourself the headache and order this the first time.
