Works fine so far
Just started using it yesterday, so it's too early to assess its longevity, but the bottom line is that it works and properly fits the power connector on my HP laptop. As earlier reviewers had indicated, the overall length of the cord is shorter - to be more specific, the power cord that goes from the wall outlet to the brick is longer than the original, but the cord that runs from the brick to the laptop is shorter, and to a greater extent. Also, the cord that runs from the brick to the laptop is of a smaller wire gauge size than the original. The Velcro strip is narrower than the original one too.I have 2 HP laptops which use the same brick, and I noticed that this one definitely feels warmer than the original when they are plugged in with the laptops not running. I didn't compare when the laptops were running, but presumably the replacement would also be warmer in that situation. I figure that as long as the brick isn't too hot to hold in my hand, it's not going to be a problem. This brick has an HP product label on it and presumably it is a genuine HP product, and not a counterfeit. When you think about it, though, what could it be - a cheap Chinese-made knock-off of what is a cheap Chinese-made part to begin with? With that said, I DID own a non-HP branded knock-off power brick that I bought elsewhere about a year ago, but it didn't last long.** But then again, neither did the original HP part, which is why I had to buy a replacement in the first place! I figured for the low price that this is being offered on here, I may as well buy it.**In the interim, I had been sharing one brick between the two computers.

No problems so far.
I had my last charger fry in a storm when my apartment was struck by lightning, and being the moron I am, didn't have my laptop plugged into a surge protector. My charger met it's end, but luckily my laptop survived! I was disappointed to discover how expensive most replacement chargers were, but eventually ended up finding this guy.I was a little apprehensive about buying it at first, given that a good chunk of the reviews I saw had mentioned terrible overheating issues, but I haven't noticed any issues in the couple of months I've been using it. It does get a little warm, but no worse than any other computer charger I've had, even when it's laying flat on the carpet. I do, however, take caution to keep it in a well ventilated area under my desk, and typically only have it plugged in for three to four hours at a time. I don't know if there are any issues with long hours of use.If you're looking for a cheap replacement charger, I think this one will work fine, just keep it in a well ventilated area.

Charger Cable Replacement
Well, the product does exactly what it says it does, the charger cable I had for my laptop had been destroyed at the point that actually connects to the laptop and this was the relatively cheapest and one that actually looked compatible. The package arrived, I plugged it in and worked like it shipped with the computer itself. However, obviously since this is a cheaper model I don't expect it to last as long as one that is made better, or (most of the time) costs more.Pros:-Worked and was compatible with my laptop-Was much, much, much cheaper than some of the "All compatible" models I'd seen that would cost a sky-high $80Cons:-I don't expect (however don't hold it to me) it to last as long as parts that are more expensive since usually being cheap in electronics doesn't bode well with a long lifetime

it works
I ordered it for someone else. No complaints so I think it works! ^^ ( btw, I did order the same thing on ebay n it did not work, so I had to order this one. The ebay seller did send me another that worked~ but yeah you get what you pay for, I suppose)

Purchasing replacement charger
Yes, the cord could have been longer, but that's not my issue. It was simply a rip-off. It didn't work a good month. what happened to good workmanship. Doesn't matter if I paid a dime for it. Very disappointed!!!

It's Actually For My Daughter
Gee, it's been two months already? I got this for my Daughter, and since I haven't heard a peep, I'll assume it works as advertised, and at a fraction of the price for an original HP branded one.Bottom line: going strong for >2 months. Given how long the original lasted and how much an original replacement costs, it will shortly pass the "break even" point.

Lap top down.
My daugter is away in college and her lap top wasn't working. She said it wouldn't hold a charge then it stopped working. We tried the easiest and cheapest fix. We ordered the power adapter at a great price and it was shipped right to my daugters adress even sooner then it was expected. It was back up and working and everone was happy. Awsome!!!!!!!!!!!
