After having foot surgery, my wife had relied several different ways of applying and maintaining cold packs on her surgical foot. But until we found the Gosemai ankle and foot ice wrap, we were never able to achieve adequate coverage over the entire foot.The Gosemat ice wrap is the absolute best way to apply cold to an affected area of the foot or ankle. The circumferential coverage of the Gosemai sock allows full coverage without the discomfort of a larger, inflexible ice block. The ice sock is very flexible, and covered by a soft, cushiony cover that surrounds your foot and ankle in a cooling blanket. The attached Velcro strap around the top portion of the sock helps hold it in place with any movement.Although the sock is “one size fits all”, I’m not sure it would stretch to fit a large foot without causing unwanted compression of a tender area, but for someone who’s foot fits (my wife wears a woman’s 9.5 shoe) the sock, this is a revolutionary improvement in helping the healing process. We now have two of these in order to rotate them in and out of the freezer.

I’ll admit that this product isn’t what I was expecting after reading the description. It is listed as a “sock”. The only thing that makes this sock-like is that it slips over the foot and extends about four inches above the ankle. It is in no way shaped to fit like a sock, it is simply a tube of gel-filled neoprene that’s closed at one end with a rounded shape at the end. The ankle end has a 2” thick band of stretchy strong elastic with velcro attached. This is to wrap around the lower leg to keep this on and prevent it from slipping off. The whole “sock” has about half inch thickness of gel, including the toes. The first thing I noticed is that it is very heavy. When the package arrived, my husband handed it to me stating, “your book arrived.” The sock is shipped in a firm cardboard box and it did, indeed, feel like I had just been delivered a hard cover book.As stated, the sock arrived in a plastic bag and box with no labeling or instructions at all. I had to refer back to the Amazon listing to find out how long to freeze it before use. I just put it in the freezer overnight. After freezing, it does, indeed, remain flexible. The very nice aspect of this is that the skin is protected from direct contact with the gel by the neoprene cover. The negative aspect is that it chills the whole foot from toes to above the ankle. Not all of us need that much cooling. I had ankle surgery a couple of weeks ago and will begin PT next week. From experience, I know I’ll be instructed to ice the ankle after exercises done at PT and at home. I do wish this could direct the cold to the ankle only. This sock makes the entire foot cold, a bit of over-kill for my needs. Although it is very cold over the entire foot, the cushioning gel feels great. Applying this to my foot then applying the CAM boot, this provides far more cushioning than simply wearing a sock alone, but really uncomfortably cold on toes when used in combo with the boot.I had hoped that this sock could be packed in my luggage for an upcoming cruise so I could ice the ankle after daily excursions, but it is entirely too heavy to consider packing. Instead, I’ll purchase some smaller bead ice packs that I can place inside actual socks. In the meanwhile, I’ll be using this sock at home for icing after PT, and can most certainly wear it (at room temperature) for comfy padding when up and about wearing the CAM boot. It would be ideal if this company made two versions of this. One with the gel only across the top of the ankle, and another with gel covering the toes and bunion area. This feels amazing on my entire foot. My heels were the target area and these plus compression and elevation is foot pain relief bliss

This product does what it claims to do. It holds the COLD well and delivers to the foot and ankle thoroughly. It is extremely heavy, shaped like a tube that is closed at one end, with a strap meant to go around the lower leg. I wish both ends were open so this could be used on a hand or arm, but it is just for the foot. Gets the job done, but those toes will get cold!

Once you get pass the initial shock of something so cold against your skin, this has a really good fit and was so very easy to put on. Having the velcro around the ankle makes it easier to get a custom fit too. It's a fixture in my freezer now so its always ready to use.

This product is easy to use and the quality is decent. I love that you just slip it on like a sock and secure it with the Velcro strap. It feels comfortable other than the fact that can feel the seam on my toes while wearing it, but this isn’t a deal breaker. It has a snug fit, but not too tight. I think this will be great for my plantar fasciitis. I also think I will be able to use it on my wrist when my carpal tunnel acts up.

I grabbed this because I was intrigued by the product design. It's basically a gel sock that's supposed to fit anyone, and I'll be honest, I had doubts about the one-size-fits-all claim, but sure enough, it fit quite well. It's made of a material that feels slightly stretchy but only slightly and a little stiff. It's not something you'd wear inside your shoe. If you have a swollen ankle or an irritation on your foot, this thing will chill you out.

This is like a gel sock you can freeze and put on just like you would a sock. It does not have the shape of a sock, it is like a straight tube sock so you can put it on your arms as well.I put it on my arm right out of the bag and it got really cold! I can't believe how cold it made me without even freezing it first. They aren't kidding that the cold will last for days.It has a Velcro strap so you can secure this once it's on the foot or arm. It's an excellent item to have in in your closet, should you ever need it.
