Awesome little read for those interested in getting started in foundry or casting work... OR just reclaiming and scrapping Aluminum! With the availability of the Internet-most users will quickly grow out of the charcoal foundry- but the molding and gating sections are well worth it! The principal audience is model engineers and railroaders- from the British arena... but like I said- VERY applicable for anyone who has a bit of a good DIY mindset and an imagination! Terry Aspin has a few titles that should all be required reading for the amatuer foundryman (or woman!). This book and the Dave Gingery "Charcoal foundry" were my introductions. From here- because these books are a bit general- graduate to the serious foundry work of Steve Chastain's books if you are intent on diving in or doing anything more technical! 海外では御自宅に工房を構えていらっしゃる方もいるようで、ノウハウが書かれています。内容はかなり本格的なもので、日本であれば、業者の方に任せる事も海外では自分で行うようです。また、自分で実行するというそのプロセスを楽しんでいるようです。
