Spootted the good and the bad
A compact UV note tester. My order of this didn't actually come with any instructions, so as far as I can tell, this is a UV note tester with a curved top which keeps the note in shade, so you can see the UV dye clearer (it can be hard to see in daylight, using just a UV torch). I did contact the seller and asked for an email of the instructions, and they replied very quickly, but their explanation was basically 'You put a UK note underneath the UV light and it shows whether the note is authentic or not', so...I'm guessing that the UV light is the only test method? In terms of that, I tested a couple of new and older notes that I had around, and the UV imprint in the notes was pretty clear at a single glance. I'm not sure what the little measurement line on the bottom is for? It's lightweight and feels pretty robust, and in a shop as a quick countertop checker, I can see where it might be useful.I did note that the box actually has a battery compartment underneath that isn't wired up for power, which is a pity, as I thing this is the kind of tester that will be most likely used on a car boot stall or a market stall, so the ability to run it on batteries would have been a very handy inclusion. For the price however, it seems to work well, and spotted the two counterfeits I have. These days you really can't be without something like this.

easy to use
follow the instructions straight from the packaging, very straight forward to use, easy to set up, simply plug in and it works straight away.its a good little project tester unit, however could be better if was more for the up to date notes. some on the old machine pick them up I.e the new notes but on this one it passes them which their clearly fakes from our shop.if you want true accuracy invest more money in a better machine, this one is fine if you just want a little tester ... its a uv light attached to a little machine which runs from electric. i.e. an electric chip inside of the plastic box which powers the light too in order for it to work.
