Good and interesting but with gaps
Really interesting and compelling arguments around the politics of the formation of the NHS and its history up to the late 1980s.It’s much weaker on the New Labour era onwards and misses some key factors, e.g. Foundation Trusts, the role of technology and the development of integrated care from 2015.

Historically accurate, with human interest
Andrew Seaton's book is historically accurate, but also full of human interest, including moving anecdotes. As someone who has spent a great deal of time in US hospitals, it was interesting to learn the origin of many of our common practices, as well as how we differ. There is much to think about in Our NHS, that could lead to improvements in our US healthcare system.
