This worked wonderful; saved hours of manual raking.Agree that the bag is a bit small but would still buy.

I was sceptical but it does dethatch excellently… plus you have the other bar… scarifying… I thought it was wider bit of misleading here in the description so you have make more passes! I do hate trailing g the electrical cord.

I have a smaller yard and it picked up three huge containers of dead grass.My yard is looking very well now.Yes the bag is very small but I just put trash can on each end. It picked up so much dead grass that just with one pass the bag was full.

Buying this was cheaper than renting a scarifier for overseeding our front lawn. I didn't have high expectations, but It worked great. Seemed plenty strong enough to dig down into the dirt of a fully established lawn. It pulled up two huge commercial bins of thatch in the process. I cut the grass really low before using the scarifier. Raked, and then seeded and set the sprinklers to run every 4-hours for a few mins.A few comments:1. It requires more assembly than other similar devices... about 15-20 mins to assemble.2. The catch-bag is 100% useless. You're going to have to manually rake afterwards.3. The hold lever pinches your hand. Wear gloves.4. 13-in is very narrow. We have a very small front lawn that is 80% landscaping and 20% lawn, but even for that small patch of grass it was a slow process. If you have a medium-size lawn this will take a very long time. Don't even consider this for a larger lawn.
