Great but great service

Needed an extension, this fit the bill, very well made, easy fit, should last forever, price was the best i found for this type extension

I use this for one of my boat trailers that is a bit too short which causes me to have to back up too far into the water to launch the boat. So far it has held up well and was reasonably priced at the time of purchase. be aware of the weight limits when using this hitch extension as it does reduce the amount of weight you can tow. the only negative I have found thus far is there is no way to hook the safety chains to the hitch unless you add extensions to them. It would be nice to have a place to secure the safety chains without adding extensions, but I did notice this in the photo so the advertisement was not misleading. yes it will have lots of play, and yes the towing capacity will be reduced, but it does the job of extending. I would imagine you could only use this for smaller lightweight boats and trailers like I am using it for.

I bought the extension to allow me to fit my bicycle rack with a spare tyre attached to the back of the Jeep. The extension is the perfect length, and seems strong enough. However, unlike the bicycle rack itself, you can't tighten the locking bolt, so the rack plus the receiver extension tend to wobble about a bit. I now use a rope to stabilise the rack, but I probably should have bought an extension designed for bicycle racks. I'll provide more feedback if I ever use the extension to pull a trailer.Follow UpI bought a clamp with a locking bar from one of the chain-store tool vendors (sorry, i can't remember the name of the product or the store) and now the extension is solid. I still use it for my cycle rack, and for towing a couple of trailers.

It has worked very well with my small camping trailer which had a clearance issue on tight turns with the truck. This gives me the extra room I needed to back the camper up and make 90 degree turns without rubbing truck and trailer. Happy so far. Note: because of the lengthened moment arm, this will reduce your Gross Weight pulling capacity and you should take notice of that if you're thinking of buying this extension. Not a problem for my unit, but as with all towing equipment you should be aware of this!!!

I use this with a hoist that is placed into the receiver of my pickup. I bought the extension to be able to use the hoist with my tailgate down (2012 F-150 Lariat Super Crew 4x4). I was concerned about the extra weight on the receiver and use a hydraulic bottle jack to support the L shaped base of the hoist. I screwed two boards together to make a base to support the jack (2"x12" timber, measuring 6"x6"). This keeps the jack from sinking into the mud if I am at the hunting camp or in the woods when its been wet. Works like a charm.

well made. great for preventing "shark bites" when maneuvering catamaran on trailer. gave a 1200 mile test used a bike carrier adapter then this extension towing catamaran on top of loaded 14' sailboat filled with vacation goodies. trailer weight total 899# tongue weight 100#+ no problem over I 95 Fredricksburg VA - Wilson NC and return. + I 76/70 and 200 miles of non interstate did 75 - 80 MPH on interstates with plenty of bumps no troubles.

The receiver is very heavy duty and works well. The only complaint is that the back hole was so close to the back end that it wasn't well supported in my gator. I drilled another hole about 2 inches forward and it's now perfect.

Great product and came in a timely matter. Only problem is that I had to add chains to the insert so it could be attached to the vehicle and then chain hooks so my trailers could be secured to the extension. this eleminates adding chains to your trailers if you have more then one.

Perfect extension to reach past the overhang of my camper so I can pull my quad trailer.

Looks great. I plan on using it to extend the hitch past the tailgate of my truck when down so I can carry my atv and tow a boat to the camp. It will work.
