Great little analog meter
My Sears version of this finally gave way after 30+ years and I searched for a while until I found this replacement. The old Sears model had the test lead channel molded in as part of the hard plastic case but I like this design using the soft case cover even better...and the red cover offers some drop protection that the Sears hard plastic case did not. Although the trend is seriously toward digital meters, I like to have an analog meter around for those times when you really need to see small and/or fast voltage variations. And the battery power measurement for 1.5v & 9v batteries is really handy and works well.

Good for around the house
The first didn’t work properly but the second was OK. One problem is that the battery test selection printing is very faint and hard to see.

Perfect for my needs, bought 2 more.
I like to have an easy to get at volt meter near my desk, in cars, etc. For most tests I DON'T want a digital meter, if battery is old, nothing works. Mostly I read voltage (12 v for car, 120 for outlets, and recently 24v ac for water sprinkler system. And to check batteries, and continuity. It does this, and more. Easy zero adjust. I REALLY like the way the probe wires wrap around the case, not hanging all over the place. They don't detach, which is fine. Easy to replace AAA battery for ohms testing.I hand it needly on the wall near my desk, made a wall hanger with a short zip tie that fit between the case opening that is held together with a screw.

Nice little meter
I needed an analog (needle instead of digital) multi-meter, and ordered a couple different ones. This one is my new favorite analog meter. It fits in the palm of your hand, has neat and tidy onboard storage for the test leads, and seems accurate and well built, especially for the money. While not really a negative, I might note that the test leads are hard-wired to the unit, they are not separate plug in wires like you find on most units. Makes for great convenience that the leads are always with the meter, and the built in storage keeps them protected from damage, with the wires tucked neatly in a little groove or channel. The leads are long enough for most uses, but cannot be swapped out, if you want longer leads or different ends, you will need adapters or extensions.Overall, a very nice compact self-contained little unit.

Great Unit - TOO HARD TO READ
The unit is great ...BUT... the text on front is TOO HARD TO READ. Come on - don’t put red print on black background. How hard is that??? Simple contrast to the text on this unit would be a significant improvement.
